Hi, my name is Joe and I just picked up an 89 Raider due to a very fond memory I have of wheeling one with my dad when I was young. This one is blue, bone stock, 200k mi, and was mine for the hefty price of $300 with a bad motor. I have another motor sourced (actually an entire d-50 with a Weber and 31s, plus a 3" BL that may/may not swap) for $300
I have sourced 16" Toyota steelies and 265/75 BFG A/T's for it already, if the 31's prove to be too dinky.
The questions I have:
In a local yard is a nearly un-picked 6/93 SR with and auto trans. The only thing that looks to be pulled are the dash guages. My *question* is about whether I can swap in the rear locker without converting to the entire axle w/coils (mine is obviously leaf-sprung).
Also, is there anything else worth pulling to swap easily? That is, besides the front suspension and brakes (I **DID** search a bit before posting). Specifically will the bouncy seats/rails fit? My rig sadly does not have them. What about the back seat? its very very nice and reclines. I bet its too wide but still, gotta ask and I can exactly drive my rig there yet. anyway, its all there... engine/trans/tcase/axles so I would like to know what to pull before its all gone. steering wheel maybe?
Third, what is the proper designation to use for google searching? gen 1/gen1/genI/gen 2/gen2/genII??
Finally, There is also a 2000 sport with no motor and some bad rearend damage, anything useful in that? maybe the tall console lid? foglight switch? from my quick glance those looked nice.
Thanks and I look forward to becoming a post-whoring fact-monster myself one day, like I see a few of you are already.
