is same issue true for i1000?

I have no idea about the i1000. But I'm sure a bit of "googling" will bring forth an answer.

Actually, you don't even need to install the "RUN" switch. Just disconnect the plug, turn the engine switch to "OFF" and let it run out of gas. Since you only need to do this for long term storage, it might be the way to go if you don't want to modify.

If you left the plug disconnected, you would not have a way to shut the generator down quickly in an emergency. My generator will not "choke out" with the use of the choke. And cutting just the fuel, my generator will run for quite a few minutes before fuel starvation shuts it down.

So if you disconnect the switch for long term storage fuel drain, reconnect it before you use the generator again............
