How would you outfit this custom LJ?

Well Mr. Schreb...after admiring your handiwork these past months, I was strolling along the aisles of the Jeep Bantam Heritage Show this weekend and lo and behold came across this....

...in the GR8Tops display. While I've liked your design, having seen the produvtion versions I'm sold. I really like the look and function of the Safari top and spent some time talking to the GR8tops folks. Looks like if there's a good chance they'll be one on top of our LJ sometime in the future.

That just looks so smooth!

I love it, really sharp work. Did you discuss with them the possibility of the soft sides etc?

Looking good Jeff, AND GR8tops

Thanks! I'm glad you like it! It's nice that people are getting to see a few more Safari Cabs than just mine for a change :).

I'm assuming you're asking Haggis this question, not me, since he posted that he talked to Gr8Tops :).

All I got from the GR8top Rep was that they were going to offer "some options " on the production units when they are ready for sale in tla couple of months time.

No no Jeff, I was meaning you, as you were the one in all the negotiations selling GR8 the top in the first place. I figured you might know if they were going to consider that as an option.

Hey Jeff, question... Can you remove the hard sides WITHOUT having to move/remove the hard top? If I recall the original design it did not seem possible, but I could be mistaken.

All of the options I've designed for the Safari Cab are available to Gr8Tops if they decide they want to offer them. They were in on the discussions with the manufacturers/vendors (or at the least were aware of my choice of vendors) in the case of the roll-up side curtains, the wiring harness kit, rear wiper option, etc., so they know about what's available to them. I do not know what their specific plans are for offering any of these options though, we'll have to wait until they reveal that.

Yes, that's one of the key features of the design. You don't need to install the roll-up side curtains like in the photo below, all you do need is the optional "bikini stanchions" in the rear (the vertical brackets with the big holes in them) that support the rear of the roof panel and (highly recommended) the optional roll-bar roof-rack brackets which tie everything to the roll bars so you can carry loads on the roof rack even without the side panels. If you are running the roll-bar roof-rack bracket set, you don't need to keep the door surrounds installed either, although they are used for the roll-up side curtains. (The Bikini stanchions and the roll-bar roof-rack are also options Gr8Tops will have to decide about offering).

I'd love to see this rig with AEV High Line fenders, vented hood and AEV bumpers.

Mine is getting a CJ Grille Kit, here's a test-fit photo before painting...

But I am thinking of doing a high line version of the CJ Grille Kit, haven't decided if I'm going to do flat fenders or CJ-style fenders...
