Howling Moon and Bundu Boxes

I'm also interested in their line of covers, to include the utensils, spice rack and cutlery rolls. I can see my easy kitchen setup, with one wolfback for all the rolls. They can all hang off my external roll bar too!

I think I am flushing the chuckbox idea now. Perfect timing for this product line to show up!

I also like the size of the wolfboxes. Much easier to load/unload off a roof rack, thank some of the larger sized boxes.

Hi Overlander,
Let's fix you up with some. They make a great range of products and we'd love to get you kitted out. Give me a call or drop a line and i'll let you know what we've got. I use 1 box for all my kitchen accessories, and it make live so much easier to just take out all the rolls already loaded with cutlery, spices and condiments.
Cheers for now,

I have a conqueror conquest and have 4 wolf boxes in the slides, two mounted in the rear above the Engel and two stacked in the nose cone.

I would love to know about:

1) additional clips
2) any foam inserts of any type
3) additional boxes (price) and the Howling Moon Canvas Cover for same! (price)

Love these boxes. On the four we get in and out of the most, we are putting luggage straps with snap clips. (no clips at all).

ps: Saw your booth at Expo this past weekend and over heard you speak about the grills, but your booth was so busy, I never got to personally speak with you about the wolf boxes! Great Show ... thanks for being there.
Hey Dendy,
Sorry to have missed you at the show. We were very pleased with the response to Howling Moon, and even more pleased that their reputation for quality preceded us! They really do make the best tents out there. Maybe it's the fact that they've been doing it for 30 years!
I'd be happy to share info on our gear:
1) We'll be maintaining a quantity of replacement clips. They're the regular plastic ones, but we're also having a look at them being made in spring steel. They'll last longer, will easily replace the plastic ones, and they'll be better in colder climates.
2)The inserts we have are high density foam with precision cutouts to accommodate plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. You can stack 2 on top of each other in 1 box, and just remove them as if in a drawer. They'll stop all your stuff from rattling, and also keep them water-and dust-free.
3)We've currently got the lo-lid boxes priced at $40 each, and the hi-lid at $45. Inserts are $20 a piece. Covers are 465 for the "2-up" and $80 for the "3-up". The covers are made of the same fabric as all the tents we're bringing in; military spec poly-cotton ripstop. UV stabilized, mildew treated and waterproofed.
We're trying to keep the prices down, but as always is dependent on exchange rates and getting them in a container.

give me a call if you have any other questions:

Would you post pics of your personal kitchen setup? I'm curious what rolls and fabric items you stock that are not listed on your website.

Howdy! Since you have a disco, how do these fit in the rear load space? How straight (vertically) are the inside walls?

I currently use "contico" boxes that Costco sells (they have two hinged lids the interlock when closed; lots of places sell them) and four of them fit near perfectly. The second layer is a little tight but still fits (I have three kids so I need a lot of storage.) What I don't like about the conticos is that the sides are sloped -- the bottom is smaller than the top. This allows them to stack, but it's annoying.

Thanks!

hey Uncle Roger
The boxes are smaller than the contico's you're using. Personally I find the smaller size a plus, since, if you've ever tried lifting a full Rubbermaid:sombrero: The ammo boxes are perfectly straight sided on all 4 sides. Dimensions are on our website at www.bundugear.com. The smaller boxes are definitely also better for the narrow storage in a Disco, but with the higher roof and the the boxes' stackability, you definitely see the advantages. And with the straight sides you can stack them and ratchet them down!

sort of...It is still a little unclear.... or at least what I am trying to figure out.... but then again I am not always the sharpest knife in the drawer...

According to this picture on your site, the Bunu Box "Lo lid" is 400x500x230mm.... or approximately 15.75x19.69x9.1 inches for us not so smart Americans that can't use the metric system (me being one of them).

http://www.bundugear.com/images/100_AmmoBoxLoLid.jpg

So the bags with boxes would measure:

Box Cover "2-Up" (Fits 2 Lo Lid Boxes): 800x500x230mm or 31.5x19.69x9.1 inches

Box Cover "3-Up" (Fits 3 Lo Lid Boxes): 1200x500x230mm or 47.25x19.69x9.1 inches

Is my math adding up right? I am trying to see how these would fit between the side rails of my factory roof rack.

Thanks!

Buduguy,
On your foam inserts, what size dishes does it accomodate? Can you provide pics of wolf boxes with the inserts in place and loaded?

Wouldn't it all just be better if we converted to metric!
Yes, according to my conversions, you're pretty spot on. As far as the bag size goes, it's a very snug fit on the boxes, so you can just use the same dimensions for the bag.

Hi,

Been reading on a SA forum that you can get metal clips for the ammo boxes.... to replace the plastic ones.

Any chance of getting some of those in ?

Cheers,
Andy in Canada
