Hi,

Been reading on a SA forum that you can get metal clips for the ammo boxes.... to replace the plastic ones.

Any chance of getting some of those in ?

Cheers,
Andy in Canada

bunduguy, any chance you could post up some pictures of your kitchen setup? Interested to see how you keep everything organized in the boxes and rolls.
Thanks

I'll get that for you ASAP, as soon as I've got it to where I want it. I'm trying to get it the way I used to have it in SA, so I'll post as soon as I have all my pieces together. Thanks for asking.

Buduguy,
On your foam inserts, what size dishes does it accomodate? Can you provide pics of wolf boxes with the inserts in place and loaded?

Hi Overlander,
I actually just gave my sets to someone who was desperate for some and wanted them for a trip. So I am currently insert-less for a couple of weeks. But they are made for a 6in bowl, and 10in plates. I've been using the enamel steel stuff because it just feels good to sit in the bush and have the "clink" of steel! And coffee in the bush is meant to be made in a SS Italian percolator and drunk out of enamel steel mugs! I'll post some pics as soon as we get all set up again.
cheers

Hi,

Thanks for the reply but I'm actually a pommy... been looking at alternative clips for the ammo boxes from these guys :

http://www.protex.com/

I've used plenty of their clips in the past for industrial & off-road applications whilst back in the UK. Very good quality and available in stainless steel

Do you have any boxes back in stock & can you get them in different colours ? Will take one now to work out a suitable clip & can get them brought over in June with family visit.

BTW, have seen them in red on Nene Overlands website.

Cheers,
Andy

great products and it was fun to be in the display next door during the Overland Expo...
I like everything I saw from the SA "dutch oven" to the boxes to the tents & trailers...and I get a really good feeling about how you guys will stand behind the products.
I am looking foward to learning more and trying out the cooking setup sometime soon.

Sorry I was too lazy to read past page 1.

Is that a Potjie and a Skottelbraai I see in the first picture?

That is indeed a potjie and a Cadac Skottel, but not the "Best Duty" potjie brand I am familiar with. This seems to be a new brand using what seems to be the same design and aesthetics as the Best Duty pot. In the end a cast iron pot is a cast iron pot, as long as the enameling is done properly.
My wife bought me the Cadac Skottel for my birthday last year (while we were living in Scotland) and I love it. We used to go to cricket test matches when I was at school and spend all weekend at the ball park: cooler box, skottelbraai, umbrella and two lawn chairs. Heaven.

Unfortunately no skottels available in the US. Cadac decided not to bring them in, but maybe I can change that!
