Bill,

If you're thinking of going with McMaster..............talk to Marty first.

I sent an email to extreme4x4 to see what the cost would be shipped from the uk and will probably go that route.

What's the deal with McMaster? If they suck I'd like to know too, since I've ordered some things from them in the past.

The rings on McMaster look more like the one you've got. Maybe the ones on the Extreme site are a new style?
Do you want a swivel ring like that? How does one attach a strap to that thing? What about just a tab to attach a standard clevis?

That recovery point is the same one that I have on my Safari Gard bumper, I could not find another source for the exact same one, except from SG. They sold them for $125. They are rated for 5000 pounds, and I have used it for winching, but was never 100% comfortable with it.

Here are a few better pictures of the truck outside for once....

Also does anyone know a source for the swivel recovery shackle that I have one of on the front.

Glad I didn't read that earlier, I used the recovery point to hook a strap to a stuck 10,000 lbs fork lift and pull it out.

Tomorrow I hope to get some bits installed and maybe start doing a re-seal on the LT230 transfer case. I figure I should get it all nice and sorta leak free before I install it.

Those look like the same kind of shackles used on the Safari Gard bumpers.

Did the Borg Warner pack it in, or just going with the LT for extra strength?

The BW is doing fine, for the most part. There is a bit of slop in the output shaft bearings, nothing major though. It also has a freshly installed VC done by Will Tillery before I bought the Hunter.

I had originally bought the LT230 for my old RRC, seems a shame to have it all sitting in the garage when I can do a minor rebuild on it new seals/bearings/gaskets and have a fresh leak free TC with CDL. Figure it can't hurt.

Interested in parting with the BW and viscous? I'm going to continue running a BW in mine, so wouldn't mind to have one to freshen up as a spare.

Once I get it swapped we'll talk Dave.

Ok got a little work done today but it was all cosmetic really. I also need to pickup another factory fog light pigtail it seems I misplaced one of them...

Added the driving lights and the light guards today.
