Also, scored a cheapo Reese cargo basket for $60 at a yard sale. It's comically small on the suburban but I still dig it.

The garmin ended up being a great solution. I've been wanting a dedicated gps and my wife wants an backup camera. I researched a lot and went this route instead of installing a new head unit.

The backup camera takes about 10 minutes to install.

Tires look good, surprised they fit, can you even turn the fronts to steering lock without rubbing?

Just begging for the suspension lift, now.

Have you seen the front brake upgrade? You need min. 17" wheels , but the '07 front rotors , calipers and brackets add bigger brakes to the front. HUGE difference in braking for these heavy rigs. Check out the link to my Avalanche for more. Keep it in mind the next time you do brakes. Sorry I caught you right after you replaced yours :(

Nice rig BTW :)

(PS, there is also a fix for the burned DRL sockets in there. )

No rubbing at all, even at full lock.

I measured everything today and sprayed the torsion bolts with pb blaster. The front is 2" lower than the back. I'm going to see how far I can get.

I've read about this on the z71 Tahoe suburban forum. Definitely compelling. I wonder how much better I'd be with steel lines and fresh fluid.

Fresh fluid is a must. Brake fluid is hygroscopic (has an affinity for water) water has poor properties in a high temperature hydraulic use. The greater the humidity it is exposed to, the more frequently it should be changed. Every couple years for most would be best. I live in the high desert. Single digit to teens for humidity usually. We can get by with every four or five years. More frequently is better though.

If you are talking about stainless steel woven brake lines, they are pretty expensive for the small gains in firming the pedal. That is better spent on the bigger rotor, calipers and pads of the '07 up.

Tracked down my intermittent CEL today and swapped out the MAF. I read that some folks had success with cleaning it, but honestly it's so cheap to replace.

What codes are you getting? There is a TSB out on a leaky intake manifold gasket that can cause a couple of CEL codes to throw. I had that problem when I first bought my 'Burb in December of last year. The good news is that under CO law, the dealer has to certify that a vehicle can pass emissions and a CEL will automatically cause an e-test failure - so instead of having to repair it myself, I took it to the dealer and they fixed it on their dime (new intake manifold gasket.)

Where did you get yours? I'm seeing prices ranging from $40 up to $110.

My CEL just came on this morning and I'm getting these codes from my generic OBDII reader.

P0101 - Powertrain
Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem

P0135 - Powertrain
O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
