Jeep JK spring options... I need some input.

I did front and rear relocation brackets from Poly/Synergy.

If you're going to stick with stock shocks, they won't be necessary. Although you may be riding higher, you'll have the same, stock travel as dictated by the factory shocks. So the standard length will be fine.

Same for the swaybar links IMO. I may need them as I have more travel due to shock change. With stok shocks, you won't encounter a situation where the longer links are necessary, i.e. full droop where the swaybar can flip over

I decided to get the poly 2" springs

Installed them today, 4" of lift. I guess I run a light weight jeep. Hoping they will settle some.

Mine haven't settled, but I did get the advertised lift on my heavy Jeep.

You really must be light, stock bumpers?

Front bumper is a hacked up mopar bumper made into a stubby with a winch. I still have some work to do on it to get it to the final stage.

Back bumper is a piece of aluminum channel with an AEV tire carrier with a 37 on it.

So somewhat light, but was surprised about the amount of lift. Hoping it settles a bit.

I've been watching this tread for a while and feel frustrated with manufactures springs not being near the advertised height. I ran the OME HD coils frt & rear on my 2010 JKU with stock Rubicon tires & rims for aprox 7 months. Then I went to 35/12.50-17 Nitto Trail Grapplers for aprox 6 months then moved to 37/12.50-17 BFG KM2 with small flares to allow clearance. I owned my Jeep for 2.5 years and logged just over 58K miles and I can say the OME coils and the newer Sport shocks performed AwEsOmE...!!!!!! On the hwy, on the back roads, forest roads, loaded to the hilt or empty... Just AwEsOmE...!
I have sold my jeep and moved up in years to a 2013 JKU which I want to focus on a more expedition style build and have been struggggggggggling with tire size... The OME HD springs look great on 35's and in my opinion still look good on the smaller 285 tires aka 33's...... BUT... I also wanted to keep it MAYBE a lil' bit lower and have been looking for a solution and come Thurs I should be able to post up some pics of a JKU with a Tera-Flex 1.5" lift. Per Tera-Flex this is a 2" front and a 1" rear lift aka 1.5' lift.... I have seen this lift installed on a JK but never a JKU. The 2dr JK sat just what Tera-Flex claimed and rode great with Bilstein shocks. I would more than likely use this kit but I did notice that the 2dr JK sat level, then he added the hard top, some gear, over sized spare tire and it started to sit MAYBE a little low AND THAT IS NOT WHAT I WANT!!!!!
I know that the Tera-Flex is high quality parts as I used thier HD Trac-Bars frt & rear, etc and will post up before & after pics and I feel it would be a great option but I know the OME also... I'll wait till Thurs to make my choise....

Sorry, it is late and I can't sleep..... Just my 2cents...

Well I definitely got the advertised amount of lift.

Better yet the Jeep doesn't get droopy in the rear with weight.

I camped Pismo Easter weekend.

Roof tent
Awning
Folding toilet
Privy shelter
Food, water, mess kit, etc.
tool kit
Recovery kit
Trasharoo on the back
Clothes, sleeping bags, etc. for two

.5 inch or less of drop in the back. Fully loaded the jeep looked level, to slightly raked when my passenger and I sat in it.

Drive through the dunes fully loaded too, and had no issues.

These springs, Rancho 7000 dampers, and Sumo Springs bump stops are an awesome combo IMHO. No problems with the load or the terrain.

And to show how far into the dunes we went (sorry in advance for spoiling the shot by being in it, lol)

Sorry, pilosopo...
I think your jeep looks great and I lOvE the stance.... I was just thinking about how far off alot of mfg are and how inline6 got 4" out of his 2" lift springs... I like the look of your jeep and have been reviewing the different racks. Front Runner has alot of nice attachments but I don't want to always use the hard top and in my opinion the GOBI looks better...

Anyway... Great looking Jeep...

Oh man, no need to apologize, I knew what you were commenting on.

I just wanted to emphasize that it is possible to get the advertised lift, it's just that those heights are often given for a Jeep with a winch and heavy bumper.

Like mine, lol, all the stuff I added got me to the right lift height. I also wanted to comment that in many instances a spring change can be beneficial.

My Jeep was heavy on the trip, but I had none of the issues I had when it was stock.

Great info here. My 2013 JKUR is also heavily loaded with winch, bumpers, Gobi rack,
Eezi-Awn RRT, and filled with camping gear. Stock springs are just not doing it anymore. I'm thinking of the OME 2" springs & shocks from ARB. I need to give them a call and find out what else is needed or if this is a complete kit.

Consider that AEV Dualsport 2.5" lift, as well. With 35" tires and 4.10 gears, it's a perfect match, and just the right height for me.

Looks like mine have settled close to an inch. Still well over 3 inches.

Ill measure again this weekend.

Spring Install

I am trying to figure out which way the progressively wound section of the coil should face on install. Pilosopo, Did you mount that side up or down? Random question I know...I have these bad boys in the mail and am trying to get familiar with the install. Not sure if this will be done in the driveway or try to find a friend with a lift that won't mind lending a hand.... Those are great friends to have!!!

The stacked/coils touching part of the springs at the top.

Mine only went in one way with regards to how the spring interfaces with the spring perch

After posting I was looking at Synergy's website and the front springs show installed like you mentioned above progressive/ tight coil installed up top... On the rears though it seemed the tight coil was on the bottom....

I guess I will have to call to be sure. As you stated though I would think due to the spring perches they would only install one way.... Not sure

I'm sure their site is correct.

I can only remember the fronts as in on the other side if the country away from the jeep, ATM.

Regardless though, they only go in one way, so you're good
