Land Cruiser 105 series ... road trips, 4wheeling

not real hard at all mate, I'm loving the new V8 under the bonnet over the old 4.2 that's for sure. I do miss the coil springs alround of the old 105 though, was a much nicer ride when off road. Strange to read they only have a 4.2 in the dual cabs for you guys, geez Toyota do some mind boggling things at times.

that's why I choose a 105 series over a 100, the most comfort and strong vehicle around.
the Toyota dealers here are pretty focus on selling the Hilux diesel as the toughest 4x4 for the mines while the 79 series are almost exclusively working in the jungle with their lame 4.2 as the troopys.

here's a pic of a troopy used as an ambulance, all of them equip with ARB bullbars

I wish Toyota dealers here could sell all the range models of the Land Cruiser family, insted you only get the Prado 2.7 and 4.0, the 200 4.7 and the troopy as the 79 series with the lame 4.2 diesel.

lol, I'd die for those choices! Here in Canada, there's no LC period.

Our only choice are Lexus versions that's loaded the the roof with electronic crap, and costs more than a newborn child. ($100k)

You know you have too much electronics when your overlanding toolkit contains a Toyota techstream, in case any of the variable steering / active suspension stuff craps out...

wow, that's the first country I heard that Toyota doesn't sell the Land Cruiser.

Nice! I just scored a HZJ105, manual with barn doors as well. :). Only 85000km on the clock. Trying to plan out my mods. How are you liking your suspension choice? I'm looking at Ironman Pro or Icon 2.0's (if I can import them without too much extra $$$).

Nice cruiser peripatew, but are you sure that yours is a 105 or a 100 ? it seems to me that's a HZJ100 with ifs and torsion bars in front ...

If yours is really a 105 (live front axle) the Tough Dog Foam Cell are pretty good, even better than espected ... as I mention before, many friends have in the 105's OME and Ironman ... the OME are too soft and the Ironman coils kind of loose height soon ... a couple of friends have the IRONMAN FOAM CELL PRO in their 150 Prado and they feel it so much better that the OME and the regular Ironman.

worth given it a try

Ya she's a HZJ105, solid front axel with coils all around. She's a weird one though for sure. From Dubai/UAE with pretty basic options. Front air only, no lockers, but power windows and locks and a center console electric cooler. Loving the 5 speed diesel with the sub tank (~40 gallon capacity), though she is a bit sluggish.

I'm waiting on a guy from Australia to get me a freight quote for an Icon 2.0 w/ progressive coils. That's what is really like to try, but I'm afraid shipping and import tax will be over $500, in which case I'll go with Ironman. I had their non pro setup on my Tacoma and wasn't too impressed with on road comfort, but, I was running it a little light for the springs I put on.

Loving the back seat though!

that's a nice 105, probably a GX version ... the options you've got are just the right ones, electric windows, mirrors and the cooler console are the best.
Just trying to find one for me, but around here is almost impossible ...

A guy tried to sell me an "oem 105" cooler console, but I think it's from another model or brand ... could yo send me a pic of your console please.

Here is what he offers as oem 105

Sure. Here is mine, I've seen a few different styles. Mine is very wide compared to yours. Not the best pictures, these were from when I first purchased it.
