Not exactly a Land Rover idea for Jeeps... it's a Grenadier idea for a Jeep... this hardtop has existed in the Jeep world for about five years, first brought to market by Smittybilt, it never sold well so apparently they sold the mold to this company. It came with plastic (not sure if plexiglass or lexan) Alpine windows in the roof and now this company is offering it with "Grenadier-style handle inserts". No word on whether they're load bearing enough to support a roof rack like those on the Grenadier (I doubt it).
What they look like on a real Grenadier (mine):
My roof rack doesn't mount on those bars because I adapted the Garvin rack basket I've been using on my Jeeps for years to the Grenadier.
One of the nice features of the Grenadier is that there are electrical connections in each of the recesses for the handles and switches in the overhead console to provide power to those connections. In this photo the factory connection is in the background and the SAE connection is one I installed to bring power from my rack-mounted solar panel into the cabin. Maybe connections like these will show up in Jeep hardtops someday too.
