M416 trailer build my brother and I

Excellent! Thanks for the info and pics. Pictures are truly worth a thousand words. I really like how your version of extending the 416 came out. And it's relatively cheap and uncomplicated. I have been researching how to do this for a long time as I do not know how to weld or know anyone who can help me. So I need to know what I want to do or it's going to be very expensive redoing it. Does your brother do side work? :)

 I received another letter from the DMV yesterday this is the second letter now. The first letter they needed another form from the DMV inspector, I took care of that and now I received another letter for something else. Well it's another hoop to jump through to get the title for the trailer. This time the bond I had now has to be changed to show home built. So it was back to the bonding agent to get a rider for the bond then off to the DMV to wait in line again to turn in the paperwork. Hopefully this will be the last thing to get the title, Ill find out in another week or two when I get the next letter or the title.

Something like this is exactly what I was afraid of especially being here in NY. They seem to be quite strict here in NY about most things. That's probably the reason it took me a bit to find a trailer. I passed on a lot of good trailers that just didn't have paperwork. Hope this gets resolved soon in a smooth and easy manner.

If it were me I would add some gussets to the rack for stability
We attached it to the basket and the the top. With attaching it in a few different points and having the bars welded across it is very stable now.

The rack is adjustable on top so it will lift up if I want to put my kayaks on the basket

Very nice work! I have seen that man before..........................Auguste Rodin's The Thinker.

Always thinking of the next addition to the trailer.

The last thing to do for now was to fab a rear stabelizer leg so that the trailer don't tip over when set up.
T132.jpg
We had metal left over so we were able to make a bracket for the leg.

The final product. It's a three pin system, the top pin is the hinge pin, then the second is the stabelizer and attaches in the up position. The final pin is the adjustment pin. Just drop the front leg, extend the rear leg and then jack up the front leg.

Sorry about the pictures being sideways.

Trailer is looking great! Love the Jeep Tailgate... and of course, the Red!

Thanks, I had to have the Just Empty Every Pocket tailgate, since it represents the project. The trailer is actually orange, I know you like the RED though. I'm going to post some pictures tonight after I get home or tomorrow of the Jeep and trailer together.
