May be pulling the trigger on a 2010-2011 4Runner Trail Edition

I think the prices of the 2014 may be much lower because everyone I have talked to hates the new front bumper.

What is too much if you don't mind me asking. From what I have seen what I am asking is way below other TE models and about on average for a 2012 with more mileage and less options. You are obviously an expert, so you tell me what the price should be. (Cough cough, wink wink).

I bought my 2010 TE with 14k miles in November 2010 for $29k, but I do feel like I got the worlds best deal. High 20's (28-29k) is fair for yours methinks, but it's really worth whatever someone is willing to pay, so my opinion doesn't really matter.

Wow that is less than trade in. You must have gotten a great deal. I think mine will fetch a little more since it is a limited trail model with every option that toyota has to offer. Glad to have an expert out there for everyone's benefit.

The time is getting closer!! I Have a nice chunk of change sitting in my account waiting to go to some nice fellow with a TE... I have been researching price, availability, aftermarket parts, etc. every day. I've been talking with people like Marshal, Colonel Angus and a few others about their suspension choices and everything else TE. Also, I'm lucky enough to live a few blocks away SoCalTrail (t4r.com) so I get to drool over his gorgeous rig whenever I see it pass by or parked somewhere.

In all my researching, I've noticed that not many people bought the red color and instead went with the silver, mag grey or black. What is everyones opinion on the red TE? I think it has a nice dark tint to it...but then again it's red....

Originally I ruled it out because I'm not a fan of red and it wouldnt flow with my personality and what I want to do with it...but I started thinking about it and I am starting to kind of like it...but also still love the Silver and Black TE's also. But then again its red...

I don't know. Help.

Man, I was just catching up on the Lavarunner thread and thought...when the hell is SDDiver5 gonna cave?! Lol

I'm glad you're getting closer. I still have zero regrets and haven't found anything that I'd change about my TE (from a platform-standpoint). In regards to the red, I think it looks good. I test drove one (before I saw the silver one that I bought) but the color grew on me even during the test drive. There are a ton of silver TEs it seems like. We need some variety in ExPo with the color. Really though, I'd say get whatever color you find the best deal on i.e. condition vs mileage vs price etc. They all look good...just not much of a fan on the shoreline blue.

i was thinking the same thing too - ha!

i actually had a deposit on a red one in Virginia that i was making plans to go get. it was an 11 that was loaded with new 265 duratracs and 95K on the clock, they wanted too much money but they were willing to throw in a couple extras for me. apparently they thought that the SatNav made was valuable and desirable

i decided against it mainly due to the color. just not a fan of dark red's. if it was a fire engine red, like really really ************* red - i wouldn't have a problem with it and i actually like that color. but i had my heart set on black or silver. it just so happened that my Mag fell in my lap at the right time and the right price and the stars aligned in such a way that i was able to fly out to denver to go get it.

just wish they had shoreline blue in 2010 or 11, that ones my favorite.

all that said, i much preferred the private sale to dealing with the dealer - it was much much more personal and i felt way better about it in the end.

haha I think the same thing every day also!!

I cant decide if I want to find the right color and price and everything, or, jump on the first one that is in my price range when i am ready to buy. But then again Ive waited like 4 months already so I guess a few more wont hurt that much haha.

I'm just going to wait and see. When making a big purchase like this I was always taught that if you wait long enough, the perfect deal will come. Oh well, only time will tell.

With that being said, I'm going to find a red one to test drive!!

mine is Salsa Red and i love it; relatively rare vehicle in a very rare color. when i was shopping, red wasn't my first choice either, but 4 years later i'm happier with the red than i think i'd've been in the silver i'd originally planned.
