any chance you could sell a piece that is just the main plate from frame horn to frame horn so us DIY guys could make a tube bumper off a known base?

You could use our FF001

(shown raw, production is coated black)

BUT...

x2. It'd be sweet if it included a winch mounting plate too.

Interesting to see the differing methodology of increasing bending resistance of those bumper bar/crossmembers/whatchamacallits. UJ uses shape (looks like its formed into a channel, no? I checked http://www.ujointoffroad.com/bumpersextras.html but it ain't there :( ) while MGM uses angles and gussets...MGM's looks like minimum bumper thickness is substantially increased while UJ's would be more universal.

I don't have a press brake available to me cheaply so more often than not, I'm designing within my limitations. Laser cutting is cheap and I have welding capabilities in house so I design a lot of my parts with slots and tabs for precise assembly and self-jigging properties. Adding in a forming operation, at least for me and my press-brake poor shop, will likely increase the cost to a point where it becomes painful (in onesy-twosey quantities anyways).

The adapter design is also specific to the application...which is an adapter to mount the ARB bumper. On top of that, I don't really need my adapter part to span across the both frame horns but I chose to do it this way for easier assembly and bumper alignment/adjustment.

For what it's worth, my design philosophy sometimes changes as quantities increase.

It has 1" flanges that run on the top & bottom, hard to see in the pic. The FF001 is on the 4wd parts page.

I'm lovin' "The Year of the Van"!! I get so much 'wife approved' time in the shop! (Though unfortunately for me, if the wife doesn't start seeing results on a few key projects, it could have detrimental effects on TYOTV). I can't be too cavalier about this shop time. :)

Today I'm updating the front Sienna seats to the '15 models with slightly darker grey leather and black trim.

Kinda routine at this point but it still takes hours to get through the list of details.

I'm also making some HUGE progress on CAD design of various projects. Some you know about and some new stuff coming up (keen eyes may be able to spot hints as to what I'm working on in these pics...). Has a lot to do with finally recovering from the injury sustained in the last couple weeks of the SEMA build. That ******** was debilitating...glad it's over. I was afraid my days of creating awesome in the shop were numbered.

*Fort George Magnanimous IPA highly recommended for those of you in the NW

Hot diggity!! You're now a member of the Sienna part deux club. In fact, I think you're the only member. ;)
