Tim, finished mine. Pain in the ***. I didn't have an extra pair of hands or tranny lift. Because my truck had a conversion done, we had a little bit less room to get the transfer out. I couldn't do it by myself. Ended up hooking everything back up and drove it to my buddy's place.

Did it over there. He has a truck lift and a tranny lift. And all the right tools.

Also swapped my front diff for a Tru-trac front.

Let me just say, my diesel pulls like a train engine. Runs great. EGT temps are lower because the engine isn't lugging like it was.

Best mod I've ever done. You're gonna love it.

Well the very top and bottom right hand hole I broke when taking my old tcase out. The middle mounting hole I broke when I was taking my new tcase out to adjust it for the CDL linkage. Worked out well because I noticed I bent the cdl linkage taking the old tcase out.

I have another rear transmission housing coming in tomorrow and today took the old one out. Also have been cleaning up the work area while working on installing a spacer lift on my friends 4runner today.

I finished the 1.4 case swap yesterday and so far the truck has been a blast to drive. I think I drove close to a 100 miles around Huntsville yesterday just to see how it felt and when I drove uphill with the A/C on and still had power to spare a big smile came across my face.

Currently the tires are still 235/85 BFG MTs but my 97 disco is needing a set of tires so I may just swap the BFGs to the 97 disco and put some 255/85s on the white one to calm the RPMs a little bit.

Point taken, but in the first photo you're only doing 59 and in the second one 75 . . . ?

My bad on the photos. Those were the only ones I had at the moments but I took another one to show it more accurately.

Drove yesterday from Huntsville, Alabama to New Orleans and it was a dream the whole way down. Getting about the same gas mileage (that may be from me driving down the interstate at around 80-85 and not even noticing it) with still plenty of power to pass people. Currently am leaning towards some Cooper STs in the 255/85 flavor as I don't need a full blown MT anymore.

Cooper ST's are nice, you'll like them.

So what did you do about the broken ears off the transmission housing?

I got a new rear tailhousing from PT and bolted everything back together. Bought a transmission jack to do the job because I didn't want to take any risk and the purchase was well worth it.

Glad it worked out well for you Tim. The rubbermade tub looked like it made the trip well. Was worried about how a 107lb tcase would do in a plastic tub thats only 1/8th thick.
