Dude! Our trucks are like brothers! ...or AT LEAST cousins.

I don't know how I've missed your build, but I just saw it for the first time. Great work (as always)! We need to meet in Moab and do some wheeling together. That would make for some cool pics! :safari-rig:

Looking good dude, Glad you got the trailer ready to roll!

But I have to tell ya, I miss your camper shell.

Thanks, definetly meet up in Moab. We are trying to plan that trip out, maybe like October but still in the works.

I do sometimes but I don't miss the weight now that I'm lugging the trailer around. Last time I jumped it I broke the rear ring and pinion and a part of the problem was all the weight on the toothpick Toyota axles. I really want to build up a new 4Runner but that won't be for a few years.

Thanks:) Should have it out for a test run Saturday up at the trails, give me a good idea what bugs still need to be worked out of it.

A couple pics from the test run. Everything went smooth, except the fact that I need practice wheeling with a trailer:smiley_drive:

Took it up a pretty nasty trail and came out untouched. It does need shocks though, bumped over a rock and it went up on one wheel. Otherwise worked great, can't wait to take it up camping in a couple weeks!!!

I thought this with my trailer too, after the 1st time I took it out.

The 2nd time I went out, I aired the trailer tires down to about 8 - 10psi, and it made a HUGE difference. Maybe try that, and see if you have similar results.

But yes - wheeling with a trailer is definitely a new and unique challenge. ESPECIALLY being so intimately familiar with the Tacoma's handling characteristics, turning radius, etc...

I aired the truck down to about 12psi like usuall, and the trailer down to about 7-8psi and worked great. Shocks are still a must though. It would really help with the bounce factor.

Have some updated mods to post up. First off would be the very stylish matching mud flaps to the truck:rolleyes: Then there is the 3 LED pod lights underneath the lid that work great at night, they even swival and tilt to point them anywhere. Today I welded on the new jack that I have been waiting on for about two months now, no more having to remember the other jack when wheeling it around the drive.
