Back at it. This weekend got the new LED tail lights in. Had to use a 4.5" holesaw to cut them out, there's no changing your mind once those monster holes are cut! Wired up the tail lights and also the electric brakes. I got a little thrifty when I saw the price of 14/3 SO cord and got a 50' extention cord, cut the ends and used that for the tail lights. I did go get some 14/2 SO cord for the trailer brakes, and it is all ran up to the front now just need the junction box to tie it all into. I then ran up to the SIR-Plus store and picked up another 20mm ammo can same as the other two on in the bed of the truck and mounted it on the tongue. This will give me some extra storage but mainly a vertical surface to mount the propane tank mount when I get it. And of course had to throw my spare on there for good measure and found out that I might go with the "Type A" style of my rims which a half an inch more backspacing to bring the wheel in since it sticks out just a touch passed the fenders. Stay tunned...:coffee:

Awesome work on your trailer! I'd love to meet up some time and take a look at your trailer if that's okay. I've decided to keep mine, same year as yours, and build it up for extended trips. I'm currently working out the details for a 6week trip to Moab, Vegas, Mojave Rd, Baja, Rubicon Trail, and back to Olympia. I'll need my trailer for all the gear I'll be bringing.

When are you going on your trip. We are trying to plan a trip back to Moab hopefully this year sometime, probably in the fall again. No problem just shoot me a PM and we can find a time this or some weekend to come up. I'm getting the wheels and tires probably by Tuesday so that will be nice to have those on so I can see if I need to remove some leafs to bring it down a bit.

I apoligize for the thread hijack, but in referance to the trip dates; Nothing is narrowed down just yet. I've been to Moab and the Rubicon the past 2 years in a row and planned on going this year, but got involuntarily called back into the military until Aug. or Sept. of this year. I'm currently in Baghdad, Iraq while my Jeep and trailer are in storage in Tumwater. I've ordered maps for the trip from AAA, they should be arriving here in Iraq next week. I'll need some time to get my trailer built more and Jeep prepped. My dates as of now are sometime between April and October of 2010. Would you guys still be interested if it's that far out? I'm planning on 4 - 6 weeks. We could discuss this further via PM if you'd like.

This weekend I installed the new 3/4" LED marker lights that I found on ebay. The normal 2" ones you get at any auto store were just to big looking for this small of a trailer, but don't be fooled these little guys are way bright! I also got the new tires and rims mounted up and Willman is up for the weekend and brought his new camera so I will let him post up some really high quality pics of those. The rest of the electrical and also the parts for the lid are ordered and should be here this week so next weekend will be a busy one.

Long day:Mechanic: Installed the piano hinge, both latches, wired the junction box, and installed the Prodigy brake controller. Tomorrow is the gas struts and get the brake controller dialed in. My cousin also stopped by with his R/C crawler:)

Finally no more picking up and moving that heavy stinkin lid:wings: I didn't account for the fact that the bolts wouldn't clear the side rails of the box when closed so I welded the top have to the lid but still bolted the bottom half so that the lid could come off if need be. The 200lbs gas springs were fun to deal with. They actually bent the mounting tabs and I had to go get replacement ball mounts with threaded studs. Much stronger now and lifts the lid with no problem, just hope it lifts the EeziAwn too. Took the trailer out for a "hot lap" around some back roads here since I still don't have it licensed yet and it does great, there is no weight back there yet but the brake controller is up and running and all the lights are working.

Well inspection is Thursday to get this thing licensed:coffeedrink:

I got the lid sealed up, built some plywood boxes to cover the lights and keep them from getting destroyed with camping gear. Mounted the propane tank. Got the license plate lights wired up and picked up some carbide MasterLocks. Also mounted up the Prodigy Brake Controller, works like a champ! If my check list is correct all I need now is shocks, a stubby light off the back and oh yeah the tent:)
