A 5spd??? HOLY!!! I shudder to think what my 22RE would feel like with a slush-box behind it. uooohh YUK.
Dave

It will feel like the Isuzu 2.6 with the 5-speed MUA5 that many of the 1st gen Troopers and Rodeos & Amigos run around with.

The 2.6 Isuzu 4ZE1 and the Toyota 22RE are very similar.

Preacherman, that is a sweet rig! I am looking for something I can buy/build in the $3-$6K range and this is an inspiration! Good luck with it.

Has anyone installed a RTT on a trooper? Mine came with the mounts for a roof rack but I am curious to know if the three factory mounts per side will hold the weight of a RTT.

Anyone???

Paul, glad to see you finally posted this one up. That is one sweet find. You could probably do a trip in it tomorrow. I'm really stoked for you. I hope to see it in person soon.

Good looking Trooper, Preacherman!
I used to own one as well and loved the extra room and overall reliability. It got totaled when a soccer mom rear ended me. I thought it was minor, but the insurance company thought otherwise. The Exploder's front end was demolished.

David, that is hardly totaled, just a flesh wound. You should have taken the check for the trucks value and fixed it yourself, and then built it up some.

Now the Explorer, that looks totaled.

Expo is GREAT, but does anyone know of other more Trooper specific forums out there? Shoot me a PM as not to interrupt this thread.

RTT/Rack for Trooper

Preacherman, FrontRunner makes a 2 or 2.2 meter rack for the Trooper that will hold your RTT and more. Paul at equipt1.com is the only distributer of FrontRunner I am aware of in the U.S. He has advised me that the 2.2M WindCheetah for the 100 series TLC should fit the 92-02 Troopers with some modification to the tracks which mount it to the vehicle. I have yet to attempt that $1100 experiment.
I have the Thule load bars and would not mount a RTT to them or the Yakimas due to the clamp on mounting brackets. I may just go with the OzTent (ground tent) as set up is equally fast, cost is lower and you don't need to pack up camp whenever you want to drive.

That being said, good luck with the build. It looks good thus far. Would love to know where the rear bumper came from.

Yea I have been looking at OZ tents and Turbo Tents too for the same reasons and because when my whole family goes we don't fit into the RT. Which reminds me I need to sell my RTT.

Hey Mark, is that the Troop, I remember from Uwharrie? Or another one?

Chase

Chase, It is the same one. We put the old springs on your rodeo for lift. Also, it had the swampers that Mia bought for her rodeo. Its been a long time since those days.

Hey wareagle

Everyone always asks me where the rear bumper came from and I never know what to tell them. Any suggestions?
