AH its the "Hills have eyes!!"

Cool pics. So did they Really detonate a nuke in there? If so, then it must still be radioactive.

I'm digging the new rack, very minimal and very functional!

Do you feel like you accomplished what you set your sights on?

haha! that's exactly what we said when we got to the first mine shaft!

and yes, they did. Ron said that it's monitered though, and so far it's safe to go out there.

thanks! and yes, I think I did. I drew up the pictures and it pretty much came out just how I wanted it.

Very nice. That rack turned out very well.

What material did you use on the rear door to mount the table to the door? How thick was it? I'm getting ready to start on a rear door table for my Disco and have pretty much everything picked out except for that.

It's just a sheet of 16ga. steel. You can get it in stainless if you don't want to paint it. I think the black matches the truck great.

Thanks. Stainless would definitely be preferred, but that may be decided by availability of appropriately sized scrap and cost. Aluminum will probably end up being the winner. I'll have to see what I can find.

How? I want to learn

I really like what you have done on the fabrication end of things. I want to learn to fabricate some of my own stuff..i know there will be a learning curve but i'm willing to take the time to learn. :coffee:

What are some must have tools/machines that I would need to have in my artillery to take on some basic projects? rocksliders, diff guards, ect? Specific kind of welder? grinders? Details would be great. Manufacturers and models:)

Thanks guys! Oh...and my pops says I'll be wasting my time..nothing like a challenge from old pops whose stuck in his ways:)

Thanks.

Metal fab is one of my favorite hobbies. It's fun coming up with ideas and bringing them to life in the end.

I'll think of a little list of tools that help me the most, but it's late right now... and I have work early:Wow1:

yeah...let me know. i help run a small family owned construction biz and we have an old welder (think it's arc) that i remember being used as a kid sittin in our wharehouse with a grinder and a few other goodies. I'm curious as to what other things might be of service.
