Looking good!

Glad to see that nose box fit so well. I just saw one at HF yesterday, and wrote down the dimensions.

Now I don't have to try and envision how it will look!

:coffeedrink:

Without moving the brake handle it would sit about 1/2" higher and a couple inches forward. My buddy is moving the handle underneath the box to get it as tight as it is. It does fit well though.

Since the lights will be routed into the box to charge the battery, I got this to route them out and still retain the reverse lights, better than a grommet as I can remove the box if need be without cutting the harness.

Looks great! Why did you go with the U bolts when you could have bolted it to the tongue?
The generator looks like it was made for that space.
Nice fab work on the fender extentions.
Looking forward to see the rest of this build.

The steel on the box is kind of thin, the u-bolts and the flat plate inside seemed like a stronger option, also much easier than drilling the box and the trailer frame.

The fab work is why I am having my buddy do the fab work... if I did it it would look like a 4 year old did it :(

I use to think that way about my fab work too.
I have bought better cutting tools and my welding is improving.
If it is a safety issue I have the certified guys at work burn it.
They are sometimes impressed with the stuff I build

How is the generator running? Thanks for the Pawn shop tip.

The chop saw has helped tremendously with the angle cuts and keeping things nice looking I think.

The generator is running great. It ran 6+ hours on the .75 gal tank I ran through it. I ran it with some seafoam in it to clean it out the rest of the way. For about half that I had a box fan attached to it running on high to help dry out my basement that had gotten some water in it. The pawn shop I stop into all the time is well known for having good tools, I usually go to their auctions and get tools rather than the shop, but this was a decent deal I thought.

Nice additions!

Thanks, next thing my buddy found while moving the trailer is those u-bolts provide the absolute perfect place for the safety hooks to hang while stored. The chains don't even touch the ground.

OK, I can see the 'Bilge Pump' (hey, water crossings ya know!:snorkel:)

But do you really need a windshield wiper on the trailer?

This is going to be some build!!!!

:coffeedrink:

I love Marine Supply stores, they have a lot of great stuff that crosses over to wheeling/overlanding.

Only after he "Drops Anchor". Great build and like all the stuff you are putting in the box. Is the battery gauge weatherproof? Where from?

I'm going to have to find my label maker from when I was a kid :sombrero: I thought about leaving the marine labels there, but I can hear my wife now

The battery meter is supposedly weatherproof, it was from ebay and $9.99 + like $3 shipping or something. I figured for that little money it is worth trying. It looks sealed up well on the backside, the way it mounts sucks though. You drill a 1-7/8" hole so it will seat, and the bracket that clips on the back won't reach the edges of the hole. Only a single LED lights up at the voltage level of the battery, so it uses even less juice than I thought it was going to.

Lid looks great. Have you tested on trailer to see how square the trailer is to the lid. My trailer looked good but lid was perfectly square and trailer was not.

Yep. the trailer was checked, and the box was checked, both are square, then the lower part was actaualy clamped onto the trailer to help keep it that way while the support braces were tacked into place.

There was one small spot where the side came in a bit and my buddy hit it with a hammer a few times and it popped back out.
