Ran out of primer and paint for the lid... gotta get more when the wife gets home.

It's a 20 footer, but it will work for now, sadly I won't be able to get the lid smoothed the way I want. My filler has gone bad.

The paint made the lift too tight, I think I am going to have to find aluminum arms. Going to strip the paint off and get it sliding for this trip anyway. Lid not re=installed yet.

My parents stopped by to check out the "tree house" and our kitchen remodel

It will only be great if I can get it sliding again. In retrospect I should have not extended the rack and built one with 1x2 side bars to make it more rigid for raising and lowering from the middle of the rack. I think the ends are sagging a little also causing some sticking. I have to tweak it tonight so I can bolt the tent at the ends, that should help as well.

My supervisor was really mean, he was blatantly eating his breakfast in front of me while watching me paint from a distance. He didn't even offer to share the extra, just threw it on the ground.

Used a soft pad on my angle grinder on the lift arms. Stripped the paint and de-burred it at the same time. Put a thin coat of grease on it and slides like butter. Until it wears in I will carry a couple foam tubes to keep the grease off the tent. I can't wait to get the lid on and try it properly with the jack. I am hoping I don't have to carry a board until I can reinforce the side rails.

Couple more shots as I did some changes tonight to the rack, they should stiffen it a bit.

Added the red bars so the tent will bolt on better, the end ones were just not in the best place after the rack was extended.

Sticker for our local trails organization, been waiting years to put it on something

No jack needed, took the tires in for repair as they had leaky plugs. Had vulcanized patches put in.

Nice build, do the side stabilizer jacks get rid of the "wobblyness" I am imagining with the tent up at full height? Or is it pretty stable?

Thanks guys, it has been a learning experience. With the parking brake set, and just me up there it was very stable. I plan to get my wife and I up there this evening and see how stable it is.

WOO HOO Full deployed it tonight and no shakes rattles or creaks with me, my wife and my 1 year old up top :woot:

Trailer is accessible from the tent as well, that is a door.
