If you don't want the dog gate in your's just tell her about what happens to packages, boxes, stuff in the back when you have to make an abrupt stop and she might change her mind-especially if she keeps as much "stuff" in the back of her car as my wife does in hers.

Nothing like getting a 10lb ham to the back of the head to mess up your day.

I love some of it and hate some of it. Overall though, a very clean rangie.

I love the wheels/ tire combo, mantec and ARB. I dislike the blackout, mudflaps and clothes lines...

I dig the lift and how it sits though.

Thanks for the feedback. Most of you guys out in the south west never understand the need for Limb-risers, but over here in the South East, it keeps you losing a windshield on a tight trail.
I actually don't like the black out myself, but running in full sun, or with the 4 Hellas blaring uptop, it was simply necessary.

The yellow letter old school flaps are more of a personal statement (see last pic with front to rear of the back of the entire rig), however, it does keep stuff from kicking up on drivers behind me as we tool down the interstate.

It is kinda like a "to each his own", ... whereas I prefer the tall skinny tire look, there will be those that have to have huge grappler muds that look like balloon tires and that is what they prefer.

Happy overlanding!
Thanks
Dendy

nice truck! My 1989 is built up kind of like yours but I've got all the drivetrain mods done too! Put that on your list because you'll be snapping rear axles once you start doing harder trails.

I will also be curious if that Southdown skid plate fits your truck. I have been told that they do not fit the earlier trucks. My fuel tank just sprang a leak so I might look into having a beefy skid made at rockware while the tank is out.

Hey, Gore Ranger:

The tank guard will fit, ... however, the brackets that it is to attach to are missing on the earlier trucks, so ... I have to have a set cut off and welded on the chassis. Personally, I think I am going to have ears made to mate up with the plate and instead of welding the brackets, I am going to put riv-nuts so the mounts can be bolted on ... thus not having to drop the fuel tank to weld!

I'll let you know how it goes.

Dendy, are those mud flaps from a Series III? If not, what model are they from and where did you get them? I like them.

Also, where did you order your tires from? I am assuming they are the 7.50 size?

PS. My family lives in Nashville. Next time I'm in town, I'd love to come by and look at your truck for ideas (if you will allow gawkers?). I have a 1991 RR that is in perfect condition. Just got it in October. I'm the 2nd owner and it only has 79k miles. See below. Sorry for hijacking your thread!

They are 110 mud flaps and I found them on ebayUK. You'll find them on some of the 110's being imported now and many don't prefer them.
I had to remove the bracket for the stock mud flaps, and drilled new holes in the top of the flaps.

The tires were not ordered. They are floating around out there in cyberland mounted on wolfs. For a while there were some defenders being upfitted as armored vehicles and the tires were being replaced with run-flats. You just have to keep your eyes open for them. It is the closest thing to an XZL that I have been able to find here in the States.

Thanks again for the good words.
Dendy

ps: Drew: Come by anytime ... just call me before and give me a heads up. Regarding your truck- I wouldn't do a thing to that truck. There are very few trucks left in that nice of an unmolested form. My truck had already had lift, trimmed fenders, etc.
I would leave that truck as is, and find yourself a nice truck (can be had relatively inexpensively) that is a better candidate for mods. LOVE YOUR TRUCK!! (and my statements are just my opinion)
