I have big plans for a new shelf mod in the works from another thread I started a few months back.
When better weather gets here I will work on it.
It should work with any Maggiolina tent, and perhaps this new one too.

We bought a Columbus (from Lofty Shelters) back when my first son was born. When my daughter was born, we could still fit, but it was pretty darn crowded. Now that we have three, there's no way we could fit.
Last year, we used a big ol' family tent. Yuck. Way too much trouble.
Now, however...
My older two (the oldest turned 8 today, the girl is almost 6) are now old enough to sleep in the Columbus on their own so the wife and I (and the 2yo) can have a tent to ourselves. In another year or two, all three will be "up top" and we'll be at the Marriott. Er, I mean in a tent. Or maybe a trailer.
The neat thing is, if it's not all of us, we can still use the Columbus -- this weekend my oldest and I are headed up to Mendocino National Forest by ourselves (dance class -- long story) so we'll just use the RTT.
I really like the height of the Columbus as well as the ease of opening/closing it (although tucking in the tent can be a pain -- works best if the doors are unzipped). The only problem I have is that the latch has rusted solid. Other than that, it's been great (and even survived me going in a garage that was way too short.)

So, first off the pickup. Mike gave me the option to pick it up in Sonoma. Thus saving me shipping costs. Since I am only a few hours from there, road trip. Got to have lunch with my folks too, so bonus. The shop was very easy to find. It's called Mudrak Custom Cruiser. I am not much of a Cruiser fan, but I have to say the vehicles in the shop changed my mind. If you are anywhere near the area I highly suggest you stop buy. Some very cool cruisers. :victory: I met Gary, I believe he was the owner. Really nice guy, willing to chat with me. His employees were equally nice and willing to chat. They found my tent and loaded it up straight away. We chatted for a bit more and I was off. Got it home about an hour ago and of course I got to installing it straight away. As with all Autohomes the mounting system is very simple. It took longer to unpack the tent and get all the Styrofoam and tape that was holding the Styrofoam on off the tent then actually installing it. Bolted down and opens like a dream. Unhook the front, unhook the rear and "biong" up it goes. Closing is equally easy. Much simpler setup then my Overland.
My first impressions are great. Quality is perfect, and I love it. I am leery of the plastic straps that hold it together, but they seam much better than the ones from years back. Only time will tell.
Thats it for now, I think I may sleep in it tonight, even though it's in the garage. :wings::wings::wings:

Right on! Finally some pics of a hard top tent in a expedition trailer. I've been looking for some all winter.

Thank you sir. I love it and have to agree, I think it will be a great seller. It sure will be nice to get to camp and have the tent and bed set up in less than a minute, plus being able to have it stowed away in less than a minute. :wings: And WAY more comfortable matteras than in my last tent. (yes, I did sleep in it last night, even though it was in the garage, come, like you guys wouldn't have done the same thing. :victory
