New BFG All Terrain Design?

They severely overpriced them...

I agree that the MSRPs listed on the BFG website are ridiculous, but I'm hoping to see that actual street prices will fall in line with the current ATs and competitive brands' tires. Otherwise, as much as I like everything I see about these tires, I'm afraid BFG will have priced them out of the market.

As the availability of sizes grows, I hope that BFG will offer some 35's for 17" wheels that aren't load range E's intended for 1-ton trucks. Jeeps and other trail rigs are better off with load range D and C tires. I would absolutely love to have a 285/80R17 load range D.

Let me see...

The new model tire is no longer made in a 33X10.50X15 with a C rating, it's now a 34X10.50X15 in D rating - OK

But... the old tire was $189.00 ea MSRP 10 months ago, the new tire is $367 MSRP!? ******?
You had me excited about a 34x10.5R15... you meant 34x10.50R17

Ditto. Hope when they show up at the local tire stores the prices are more competitive but I'm not holding my breath. If not, even though I really like the new design I may be back looking at the St/Maxx instead.

I expect them to fall in line with the current AT/KOs eventually with a small price premium to start with, probably a year or so for them to drop; although the current prices are ~10-15% above the others already from what I have seen.

I would like to get these but they do not show 265/70/16, will more sizes come out as they get this initial release? I need new by Nov, do I run out and get the old KO now in fear they will not have my size later or wait it out and see if they discount the old models? And why does it seem like all the manufactures are going to E rated tires, I prefer D or C on the Tacoma.

What about 265/75/16? That's probably one of the most common sizes out there.

The difference between a 265/70 and a 265/75 is only an inch. 30.6" nominal diameter vs 31.6". 1/2" of radius isn't going to make much of a difference in terms of fit.

I saw a great skinny 17" tire. It was 34x10.5x17. Specs at 33.5.

That almost makes me want to get 17" rims.

Yeah, I keep looking at that tire. But at $367 the price is so far out of line its not even funny. TreadDepot has the 255/80R17 at $183 for the ST MAXX and BFGs own 255/80R17 MT at $248. They need to get the price on that tire down to $200-$225 to even be a consideration.

If it starts to show up in that price range I will give it serious consideration. Otherwise I will go with the STMaxx in a 255/85R16 for $200. Hopefully BFG will also provide the tire in a 225/85R16 load range C-D (or the 34x10.5R16) for around $200. Then I would have something to be excited about.

Just thinking about that 34x10.5x17. What are the chances that Jeep will use this tire on the next gen Wrangler? Could it be possible Jeep is working with BFG on this tire? It just seems strange to me to introduce this new size. Although I am happy to see it.

Mid-winter is probably when I will be tire shopping, and if these are priced in line with where they should be this is what I will be buying. The sidewall lugs look kind of cheesy but I guess it's what the market is demanding now.
