I stopped at Souther OffRoad Center the other day ---- that's where Dean used to have the trailers for sale ---- and told them I had a Conqueror; they thought I was a little nuts. They said they had them there for years and didn't sell any...
Rock-crushers don't get it.
It's a different breed of rock crusher in the west.I am a rock crusher and everyone that came into our camp said that they would love to have one.

Even though I have a Wrangler, I'd go crazy without my Land Rover and Unimog friends... ...the Jeepers just want to play in the mud or rocks and then go home.
Would one of you please mind giving me a real quick photo of the spare tire mounting method? Just curious what they did. I still have to figure out what to do with mine.
Thanks.
It is essentially almost the same mount as is used on the rear of a disco series 1
Contact Marty in Kentucky (Iamthedrillbit) and he'll have one for you for sure.
You should be able to relocate the studs to what ever wheel size you are using. Wait ... you are a Land Rover person ... right?

Cool pics!
I usually pitch the Conqueror tent w/o stakes and just put my heavy boxes a the corners of the tent. This works well for most medium winds.
When in sand and the wind is really whipping...
Take the two 5 gal jerry cans and burry them 3/4.
Position them about 5' from the corners of the tent at a 135 degree angle from the tent sides.
You now have a couple of very strong ground anchors which you can tie guylines to. If things are really bad, you can use spare tires as anchors and reposition your vehicle so it is right next to the tent, between you and the prevailing wind. That should get you near hurricane resistant.
hope it helps,
