Afternoon all! I live in Grand Junction, CO, AKA: The Junk and currently drive a mildly modded '06 Nissan Xterra Off Road model w/ 6-speed tranny. I just purchased an '83 FJ60!
It's the second 60 I will have owned, the last one had a 350/NV4500 conversion and was a serious problem child. Never again will I do that to a rig!
My Xterra is a great daily driver, but all of the electronic whizbangs are starting to piss me off. I don't like my rigs to smarter than me.
Anyway, I plan on doing a bunch of rehab to the new 60 and a bunch of trail mods. The rig has 170K on it and runs well according to the PO. The sheetmetal needs some love though.
I pick it up tomorrow in Denver and drive it back to The Junk and start the mods.:wings:
Me: I'm BLM Ranger, non-law enforcement, that patrols the non-motorized areas of the Grand Junction Field Office. I get paid to hike, mountain bike and do trail maint.
My dog, Pecos and I fly fish, mountain bike, backcountry ski and seek out hard to get to places. I don't wheel for wheelings sake, just to get the the out of the way gems and trout streams.
I've traveld a fair bit by 4x4 all over Mexico and Guatemala and have ridden my m/c to Tikal and back.
If it fairly dangerous and pisses off my SO I'm probably interested.
I look forward to meeting some of y'all online and in meatspace.
Take it easy~ Gary
