Nolden 7" round Bi-LED headlight review!

The lamp is a "universal 7"" fitment, the SS adapter ring allows the lamp to secure to the stock plastic '02+ headlight bucket.

Soooo, how would that fit in a pre '02 non-MBUSA G? Ring or no ring?

I've asked a couple of the eBay sellers but haven't received a reply as yet.

Unfortunately I have no idea as mine was an '03 and AFAIK I'm the only one who's fitted these to a truck in the USA--at least on the forums. Is the headlight bucket for the Europa G's the same p/n as the '02+ MBUSA rigs?
They may not know unfortunately. :(

I could open up my headlight bucket and take some pics... don't have an '02 or newer pic to compare to, tho.

How are the headlights holding up, BTW?

OK, so you don't have a sealed beam light now. I gotcha. They are a drop in replacement for the jeep. I figured with the round lights on the g, it would be similar.

We could compare to my '03 pics.
I sold the G to a friend, but they've been holding up terrific, no issues at all. I'd buy them again.

eBay answer I received:
Yes they need the ring, plus these dont have the position light.
I followed up asking if they sell the ring and what is the 'position light'... since my G has standard halogen 7" rounds, there is no position light.

Position light is for USA as well; come factory on '02+ W463's, probably on the earlier Europa's too. It's also referred to as the "city" light or the "parking" light; it's the very dim ~5w bulb that barely illuminates the inside of the headlight housing, often wired in factory to come on when the amber parking lights are on. Once the low beams are on, of course you can't tell the city light bulbs are on as they're overpowered by the low beam bulb.

Don't have the position lights on my 2000 Europa. Maybe they were replaced prior to my obtaining it.

eBay seller also responded they don't supply the adapter ring for the G.

Interesting, maybe they were removed upon federalization?
Ugh, that's odd...dunno how they can get the lights but not the rings. Maybe another ebay seller can get them?

Yeah, position lights are allowed on US vehicles since the UN resolution was approved but they're ECE spec, not FMVSS-108 spec. I think they're a decent idea.
You can get JW Speaker 8700 Evolution-2s in an ECE variant with a half-halo as the position light. Pretty neat if halos are your thing.

And if halo are your thing on your jeep, then you need to find a place to mount the aircraft aluminum wing as well. ha ha ha.
