Not Necessarily EXPO, but it could be a cool Base Camp

Kind of funny, but I've been "base camping" in a 12 foot cargo trailer at my shop for a couple months now. Mostly to cut expenses so I can replenish my trip fund. Though I have thought about building out the inside. The biggest concern is the door being locked from the outside as has been mentioned. Other than that its fairly comfortable.

Sounds like time for a super secret spy trap door!!! Hatch to the ground or ladder to a roof hatch! It could be so James bond. Slide the bookcase over to expose the door...

Ive been living in my shop for over a year and a half, mattress on pallets. I love it.

Depends on the weather and the temperature, I guess. Without windows, you're sleeping in an airless metal box. Ventilation can be a big deal under those circumstances. Many, many years ago, during my massively mis-spent youth, I crashed for several months in a garage. It worked fine during the spring, but when real hot weather rolled around, I sweated like a pig with the doors closed, and got eaten alive by the bugs with the doors open.

John

I have seen people make a second door on the door-man with a wooden frame and put a screen door there. Or some people even put an AC unit on the wooden door. Sure it isn't "stealth" but if you pull into somewhere that will allow it you can open up the side door and have another screen door. When the screen door isn't in use, it just swings to the inside of the trailer.

If I was building one out, I'd install one of these boat hatches on the roof and keep a step ladder or something that would give me access to climb out if the door was to become locked

It's sort of expesnive, but we are talking about your escape stragedy here

For argument's sake...say you get out the roof hatch, would your trailer roof be able to hold your weight as you slid off the side?

I'm just asking because I am curious as to the weight limit on the roof of the trailers.
