Hi all. We had our D15 out this weekend and I inadvertently tested the durability of the powered step by dragging it up and over a tree stump. The tree stump won. Has anybody had to replace theirs yet? Curious if anyone knows of a direct (or better) replacement. Thanks!

I did the same thing. Like Obsessed said, if you've already ruined the step, I don't think it's the most cost effective solution to replace it and risk ruining another one. There are folks on here that will bolt and unbolt the electric step when going offroad, but I find that a step stool is just as easy and I don't miss the stairs. I use a single level 9" step and it works fine.

The heater is not run by the remote, the remoste is for the AC. There is a heat pump on the AC but your not going to be able to run that with batteries, that's a generator or shore power thing.

The propaine heater is controlled on the small panel along the bulkhead by the bed. It's the same one that yuou turn on the water heater.

I guess I'm confused. I set the wall panel AC/Heat switch to heat. Put heat at 60, fan was on 3, temp in trailer was in the 40's. Nothing came on. I tried this several times over a few days. Is there a switch under the bed? My propane was on the whole time as we cooked regularly outside. If you can't get heat without shore power then this is not much of an offroad/offgrid camper.

Ok. I will reply to my own heater problem. Today we were looking under the bed for the AC remote. How convenient of OBI to stow it under the back right panel as you are facing the bed. Had to take 6 screws holding the panel down to remove the panel. While there I see the heat pump has an on and off switch and the valve for fresh water tank front and rear. I was wondering how the tanks worked. I'm learning. I am on page 22 of this forum so maybe this info is in there somewhere. I will try the heater to see if it works.

If you move the lever pointing to the front, you're pulling from the front tank. If the lever is pointing to the rear, you're pulling from the rear tank, which I suggest you pull from first if you're not stationary for your entire trip. having more weight behind your trailer axle than in front of it, can cause the trailer to sway like crazy going down the highway. I hope this helps.

How did the blow out go down?

What tires did you replace them with?

That's one of the plans I have for spring, replacing the tires, was planing on replacing them w LT Falken Wildpeaks.

1 of the Triangle MT Extreme tires had a chunk just disappear out of the tread last year. I noticed it after parking the trailer after the road trip. Never hit anything sharp, assumed maybe I hit a piece of rebar in the parking lot of Stovepipe wells in Death Valley. Replaced it with a BFG KO2 E-rated and hung it as a spare. This year all pressures good and one goes boom. All Suspect chinesium tires have been replaced with BFG KO2 E-rated now. Tows great.

Tire blow out the other day. Kinda hosed myself by not having a proper jack ( lesson learned). I waited 4 hours for aaa. Went to harbor freight to pick up a floor jack. Checked the pressures b4 I left, everything was ok. Thankfully minimum damage to wheel well.
This happened on highway driving 60 mph with the triangle tires.

D13 Mods:

1. Removed the back tire off of the rear bumper and moved it under the toolbox upfront. I had some friends fabricate a frame to hold the tire and support the toolbox.
2. On the rear bumper I installed a 350lb Curt receiver and moved the lights out towards the ends of the bumper. I also relocated the license plate holder to the left side of the bumper. My Rocky Mounts swinging bike rack works great and clears the rear of the camper.
3. I mounted my traction boards on top of the toolbox.

That‘s it for now… heading to Great Sand Dunes National Park in a couple of days.

Oh, one more thing. I mounted the cheap awning brackets that came with my camper. Yes, I know they’ll break but I’ll just replace them with something stronger.

I got rid of the “triangle tires” and put on a set of BFG K02’s(load range E). I have K02’s on my truck(great tires). With the front water tank filled, rear tire removed and stock shocks I have run up to 80 mph without any sway or issues at all.

Not sure if anyone has had issues with tail light turn signals not working or what direction to head in trying to deduct things down on what to try.

Current issue:
Passenger tail light turn signal and brake light do not work.


Steps taken:
Tried to replace light with one off of amazon wired up and still not working. Realized if If touch the ground wire to the stainless oven cover the light will turn on. However, the brake and turn signal do not work, just running light.
Checked all fuses related and they are not burnt.
Took off the light from the driver side which is working and plugged into the passenger side, did not work. This leads me to believe it has to do with the wiring or the plug. I then tried to use taps to bypass the plug with the same issues as above, just running light.
Tried to plug in another truck to rule out a fuse in the truck same issues.
I know this is probably impossible to diagnose with the poor description above but maybe a long shot someone has had this issue before.

Model type is Dweller 15.

I had same problem. The fix was to open remove the cover on the inside of the bumper where I could get to the wires inside the bumper. The connection inside for left light was not connected properly. Looked good, but no lights. eliminated the stock connection for left light and installed new connection. Fixed the issue and works every time now.

Just returned from a 2 week elk hunt in Colorado. 1st time out in our 2022 Dweller 15. Really enjoyed the camping in the Dweller. For years always used a 11 x 17 wall tent plus last few we added a 11 x 16 awning for extra outside space. Quite a big difference in the two. We did rig up a 12 x 20 heavy duty tarp to cover the cooker and fridge. We had 40mph winds a day or two so we added extra ropes on the sides and front. It held up. The awning on the Dweller would have blown away. We didn't start out with full batteries as we were unable to plug in before going into mountains. Our Iceco fridge had E1 error message until sun came up and solar panels kicked in enough power to run it. So, when we got to camp we took fridge off camper batteries and hooked up a 1000W Jackery power station and its solar panels. We never lost power on either. The Jackery is the way to go. Without it the fridge would have been useless after a day or two. We never could get the heater to come on. We did not have a remote control as dealer didn't provide. I tried the wall control, power on, selected heat and fan speed but nothing. We ran the AC at home using same control, it worked fine. So not sure what problem is on the heat. As everyone knows the manual is nonexistent. We did change out the shocks to the Monroe Mag 60 series which took out the sway. Finally, on way home we had a blowout on the hwy. I figure the unit sat for over a year and the flat spot weakened the tire. I'm taking the other tire on ground and replacing both with new tires

Did anyone else lose the 2 external water lines and quick disconnect gas line on the passenger side when the tire blew? Just got done replacing mine after the blow out.
