I'm going to keep playing around with a prompt for this. I ran out of free credits for today though.
Yes I have. Fully built, including 20gal of water in the tank, the setup adds around 1400lbs to my truckHave you weighed your rig? Curious what it weighs fully built.
Just curious — is the 1400# fully loaded or just camper, water and interior build. Does it also include your truck mods too?Yes I have. Fully built, including 20gal of water in the tank, the setup adds around 1400lbs to my truck
In that first pic you posted above, the catch for the door is longer; is that something Jay did from the shop, or did you get a longer one?
Sorry about the slow response. Yes, that longer catch is because the doors are asymmetric. It’s for the lower half to clear the taillight. Jay included it with the lower half install kit, and I installed itIn that first pic you posted above, the catch for the door is longer; is that something Jay did from the shop, or did you get a longer one?
It was hard to nail down the exact weight, but I estimate just the camper with a full tank of water (26.5gal) is 1400#.Just curious — is the 1400# fully loaded or just camper, water and interior build. Does it also include your truck mods too?
What is your wheel and tire size? Love the setup! After the aforementioned washboard pounding we experienced in Saline Valley in December, I got home and set out to improve the suspension on our Tundra. I started by weighing the truck and determining the camper weight to be around 1400# with a full tank of water, and that 2-3” of lift over stock would be the sweet spot that would allow sufficient wheel travel for my adventures. I contacted Alcan springs for a custom progressive leaf pack and Ubolt flip kit. They were easy to work with, and built exactly what I wanted. Once installed I measured my suspension travel and called Accutune suspension for a custom valved set of shocks to compliment the springs. Due to the weight of the camper, they suggested the Fox 2.5 Performance Elite series of shocks. It took a while to get the pieces, but now its all installed it’s a huge difference in rear suspension performance! The Ironman FCP lift struts in the front will be replaced next.
