Last picture, we just got a few new parts from the Pick A Part this week and also a few things from my partner Derek, so I'll try to post a few more as we make some progress this week/weekend. We are out lining our interior build and will hopefully very soon be able to finish her "F.E.M." for our Christmas Holiday trip this year.
Cheers All,

P.S. there is a new window in the sliding door, I just need to shoot some updated pic's.

My Moto Van

Love vans! Love this section!
I purpose built my '99 E350 7.3L in 2001 for motocross racing.
It served me well for the last 8 years. 210,000 miles put on during summer months only as it goes into salt free winter storage here in MN. As I do not race motocross full time any more I plan on gutting my rig with a camping/base rig remodel in mind. Thanks to everyone's posts and info...

Thanks! This started out as a plain jane construction van in '01. I acquired cloth seats, head liner, carpet and trim from the salvage yard. The rest I made and installed...
Here is the current setup that I wish to modify or rather gut. (yikes)
Yep, my taste for leopard print has passed!
I attach the pictured aluminum frame to my bench seat to create a double wide bed. Easy in and easy out as needed.

And 2 more of the rear "garage." Auxiliary battery, isolator and power inverter installed. Haul and sleep anywhere I need;)

Yeah, thats a great looking set up. I could see going that route.

Would you put the bike on the rear then, or trailer it? (assuming you're still going to ride some)

I will always keep the capability of placing two motorcycles in the van. Having a small utilitarian mobile garage is a great convenience. I enjoy riding single track and so the van is a superb base vehicle. I will just configure more convenient and efficient cooking, sleeping and storage areas. Thanks again.

That is how we use our van, and why we have a van and not a truck. The fact that I can haul my bikes, gear and lock it all up, while we are out on the boat or fourwheeling in the bronco is awsome. No one even knows you hauling bikes and I can still tow what ever I want behind it. I am doing the same thing with my interior making it useful for camping and long trips but also being able to haul the bikes.

vid of turbo sounds.

replaced the benches with 4 captains chairs and nice BIG bed/couch...

front and rear heat and ac...all the glass seals have been redone..fuel system new..

turbo installed last winter...runs diesel and WVO...(smells like a BBQ grill and gives me 3mpg increase!!)..hood vents to dissapate heat..and heater-core bypass that works REALLY well to help keep her cool..

projector headlights (ebay $40) with european city lights...all engine hoses replaced..vivair 350C and onboard tank for running powertools at camp..

I usually tow my 4x4 with it and camp out in it by myself or with the dogs...with TWINS on the way im anticipating less 4x4 wheelin and more adventuring/camping with the family..so its time to gut her and get some ammenities installed for the wife and kids...

plans...GTRV style poptop..freshwater storage/shower in back door..awnings side and back..winchbumpers and winch (gotta get another plasma cutter!!..have steel awaitin!!) serious insulation and soundproofing..and rear arb..(cus if i cant make it...I shouldnt be taking my hefty girl there!!)
