Honestly Greg I couldn't tell you if any of the dealesrhips do this stuff near me. I've only been to a stealership once since I've owned my Rover. For the most part DIY and indie shops have been my preference.

I've only heard of the Land Rover Experience events and independent driver training/trip places like Off Roving. I did stumble across some photos of a owner of a new LR3 that rolled his truck in the local mountains who was apparently with a few guys from a local dealership although I'm not sure which.

If I ever make it out to Phoenix for what ever reason i would definitely like to see what goes on in one of these classes. Do you charge people for them or is it free with the purchase of a truck?

It's free for anyone driving a Rover. I've even had series vehicles show up who just heard about it. Some people come back several times just for the thrill of driving the track. Come on out!

Am I the only one wondering, looking at that picture, how they open the hood without unleashing a slew of cuss words?

Aren't the air intakes usually turned toward the front of the vehicle so the snorkel can actually take in air? Looks like that one is turned toward the back of the vehicle.

Awesome. Now if I can come up with an excuse to come out to Arizona.

I have seen a Cayenne off road. Came out of Goler Wash in DVNP as we were heading into Barker Ranch last year.

At high speeds (Autobahnish) that rear facing air intake might be a bit of a problem. At any speed lower than that it won't be.

Quick Porsche Cayanne story- 2 years ago the movie production crew for "Transformers" was in town, and we had gotten word they needed real firefighters as extras, (Yes I was one of them- I even got paid FIFTY BUCKS for it) remeber the scene when the "meteor" crashed into the ground and some buildings, and they had firefighters running into the put it out? There was a news guy on the screen and we were all behind him... anyhow- the film guys had a modified Porsche Cayanne- like a dark purple color, it had no rear hatch and a very large boom/camera thing on top, which was remote controled from the front right seat I think. The director rode in back with a mega phone. It was gyroscopically stabilized and very bad%$#$@ One of the crews guys said it cost, OK are you ready for this..................... $850K. Needless to say we couldn't get near it.

yeah that thing is cool. They were pulling your leg that it was $850k. Maybe half that. I hope that the stock roof is up to all that extra weight because the roof was not beefed up and there are no roll bars installed. The owner said it's plenty strong enough (hmmm, must be an engineer?), but I certainly wouldn't want to be anywhere near that thing if it went ******** over tea-kettle! Wish I could remember the name/website, it is cool.

I thought Allan owned the Cayenne but I guess he doesn't. www.apcamcars.com Check it out, there are also a couple of the Mercedes SUVs working in Hollywood with that roof setup. Chec under the lin for fabrication, at the bottom there is a picture of the rig he built for Seabiscuit with a Dynatrac rear axle and ARB lockers for running on the race track at Santa Anita.

Apparently any clown in a Cayenne can obtain a snorkel, but I can't get one for my Tacoma?!

Yeah you're a MAD DOG!

But anyone can post a picture of a pinstripped circle and claim to have a snorkel. If you don't post up some real proof soon, Vadar himself is going to pay you a visit.

********!!!

Yeah, for real, my monitor died at home and I am in mid write-up. I am blatantly withholding all the pics until the write up is complete, it will be worth the wait.

And just for you Greg, I'll personally help you install yours when you're ready
