Post your tents

Wouldn't surprise me. Just assumed they were same size.

I've been trying to chase up the fly on the newer model which covers the windows fully. I feel that would be better for Aussie conditions....you know we have the most dangerous animals going around! Especially the sharks that find themselves up the river streams in mountainous areas. You go down fro a drink and Boom!,,, sharks! Crazy stuff:drool:

Kelty Acadia 4

I have been very happy with my Kelty Acadia 4. There may be better tents out there, but this one fit in my price range nicely.

However, I was camping in the San Bernadino mountains over the last weekend and the temp got down to about 28ºF. I was wishing my airy, great on those hot summer nights tent wasn't so well, airy. I may need to look into something a bit smaller and more sheltering from the cold.

Nevertheless, here are some photos

I also have the footprint for this tent. It works really well

PS Thanks to everyone in this tread who posted. I was utterly clueless when it came to tents and now I am just clueless!

We've been camping in our Eureka for the past 7 years with no issues. From -15 winter camping to 5 days of heavy rain on the west coast without a leak, this tent has never let us down.
Although all of these RTT makes us want to upgrade.

Gosh I love BC.
Would love to pull my rig up close to that lake and setup camp.
Now is that a lake, or are you on the coast?

Its Kinbasket Lake just north of Glacier National Park. It was a beautiful spot to set up camp and explore!

Cool, I bet there are black bears up there too.

Use to camp with my parents when I was very young up in BC.
We would start from Seattle, and the first night spend up at Hope.
Then we would make our way clear up to Lake Loise, then up to Jasper.

Took my kids twice when they were young up to Lightening Lakes campground up at Manning Provincial Park.
That was one of the nicest places I have ever camped.

Looks like a beautiful spot! We actually spooked a young Grizzly about 1 mile away from where we camped, we were a bit nervous before going to sleep.

When I was a kid my Dad always swore by Eureka tents which impacted my buying decisions alter. We have been using them now for ten years and I feel like they are the best tents for the money.

BUT... Like you I'm loving the idea of a RTT. It's time to retire my trusty ground tent.
