And they fit the first time?

Ouch. Yes they were on the truck before, but I took them off to fabricate the suspension on the Uhaul. I've been riding around on stock superduty springs. I will be at KOH next week and there is a 3 mile stretch of crossgrain that I have to cover in a hurry. Wanted to get the plush springs back on there.

Just poking fun :D

Yeah I have heard the access to KOH can be killer.

Here is a shot looking out across the valley from our shooting spot last year. You can see a car heading towards us on the course. We had to park down where the course goes out of the bottom of the photo, and climb up the canyon. There is no trail, just loose rocks and boulders. It's pretty hardcore, even for young people who are in much better shape than me.

Wrestling with my Atlas leaf springs today. Got them in without killing myself or breaking anything.

Just out of curiosity, did you order one of the pre-made leaf-spring packs from Atlas (I.E. Progressive/expedition) or did you get a custom leaf pack made? I'm toying with the idea of getting an expedition pack for the rear of my truck. My BDS leveling springs in the front are pretty good, but the rears leave something to be desired with the OEM Superduty spring. 2001 F350 7.3 4x4 with a Callen camper for reference. Thanks in advance for any help.

I love those callen campers. I took my truck to Atlas, and went to the scales with Fernando. They made the springs custom to my truck. That callen is pretty light I'm guessing. You might be able to just run some shelf parts. They would know better than me.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. From what I understand, the Callen is somewhere between 500 and 1000 LBS. Steel frame, so has some weight for sure, but not sure what the correct weight numbers are. I'll give those guys a call, or drive down there and chat with them. Thanks again.

The bleeder screw you are talking about is the rabs valve (rear abs). I removed it from the system as it only works intermittently. It has never helped me to avoid an accident, it always nearly causes one when it kicks in and the truck won't stop. I get the concept they were after, but I think knowing how to control your vehicle is much more effective.

Ok gotcha, that makes more sense. I guess the “professional mechanic” that told me thst didn’t really know what he was talking about lol. Is removing it just a case of cutting it out and running a new line? My truck is a 96’ and has had it functioning since I’ve owned it. It is definitely a very basic system in function. I’ve had to avoid a deer last winter and it definitely locked the fronts but no the rears. I just had my whole system bled and re-filled with fresh fluid at a reputable shop I’ve been using for years. Much firmer pedal feel.

If it works, leave it alone. The problem comes when you try to fix it. Factory replacements are expensive. Anything aftermarket or rebuilt these days is a crap shoot. My next move is to try using one of those bleeders that force the fluid through the system under pressure from the master cylinder. There could still be air trapped in the lines.
