Every Miles A Memory

Thanks for the info Trevor. Like I said, I'm probably wrong. I know I've looked at the EXIF data of my images and they dont say they've changed anything because when shooting macro stuff with the tubes, I usually have it on manual??

I'll have to do some test shooting and see what it tells me

Your camera may actually tell you you're at F2.8 but it's wrong in terms of light gathering ability. The aperture ring can be set to F2.8 but because of the extension, there is light loss and depending on the length of extension it can be around 2+ stops or more. Kenko even points this out on their site here.

Kenko said:
There is light fall off when using any extension tube, sometimes the equivalent of 3 f-stops of light is lost when using multiple extension tubes together.

I propose we now refer to Trevor as Professor Trevor. The man knows his stuff.

In the past I have favorably compared Prf. Trevor to Alton Brown, of the food network. I still think that comparison fits. Equal measures creative and technical, with dependably satisfying results. Hmmm... same last name. Are you guys related?

I may not always share Trevors opinions but when it comes to facts he either knows, or is willing to go the extra mile to find the facts. Thats A-1 in my book.

Now um how about some pictures?

Bought a new laptop and received a Holiday gift of a Canon point and shoot. Went out and took a few shots to see how it worked and tried the auto and a hand held night shot program that's built in.
