Had my mechanic install the 4x4parts 3leaf AAL... talk about extreme rake. The AAL netted me a complete 3" rear end lift. Not what I wanted; I knew I should've left out one leaf. Tomorrow will have to be adjusting the torsion bars after work and hope for the best of a near level height, and the AAL settling an inch or two overnight... Otherwise I'm taking my back asswards rig out as-is this weekend. I was optimistically hoping for the weight of the rear tire carrier to help bring down the AAL as it was sagging my rear end on stock leafs already. Maybe if I leave my jerry cans filled 24/7, that's an additional 80lbs on the far end of the rear....
Loaded up with guns ammo and gear worth for 3 people all day, and about 500lbs of meat bags (2 friends), I was riding on the bumpstops on stock leafs. Without my friends and the load, I'm typically riding about 2" from the bumpstops. Now with the AAL's, I'm probably near 6" of clearance. Completely perplexed as to how stiff these really are.
Option1 Hope the leafs settle overnight and also readjusting the torsion bars will even out the ride height
Option2 Take it back to my mechanic tomorrow and pay again to have him remove a leaf... the right leaf I do not know. That's another $200 in labor and hoping it's the right leaf (possibly the middle or smallest leaf).
Option3 Order the Calmini UCA's ($400) Monday and adjust the torsion bars more... :smilies27 This will definitely lead to wheels and 33" tires
