Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Nice... I wish I had one of those intake adaptors. Since mine was a retrofit I had to fab mine. I have a nice 4" hole saw. Only used once ;)

That looks awesome, gives me incentive to get one, though I'll have to wait, I need my bumper and tires first.

Wow, Thanks for all the compliments! I've worked very hard on it. Went out and got these today! start of the trail-mfp9a.JPGand some as we were going along-mfp1.JPGmfp2.JPGmfp3.JPGmfp4.JPGmfp5.JPGmfp6.JPG]mfp8.JPGmfp9.JPG It started snowing very hard and since we were 4000 feet up, it got cold really fast. The mud was freezing to the Montero. The last one is me being the ape-man after climbing up to get mobile service from a mountain top mind you. At lower part of tree I had one bar. In the top I had 4!

looks good man.
Ive been thinking about retrofitting a cherokee bumper as well, i may have to pick your brain a bit if i decide to. gotta figure out my front end first though. not sure if the frame is dorked up, or just the stock bumper.

As tough as the stock bumpers seem, once you get them off they are quite flimsy. Without knowing the front end issue, I'd say that its the bumper because the frame is incredibly strong. and only 4 bolts hold it on.

makes sense, bumper is pushed in on the passenger side, happened some time while the montero was in china. that is actually the only reason i went with 31s instead of 33s. the corner being pushed in would have caused issues with 33s.

Just take the bumper off and toss it. Doesn't look bad without one. It'll give you initiative to get the one you want on there. I will tell you that installing mine wasn't fun at all, so if you go the route of getting one for a Cherokee be prepared to put in some hours.
