im still trying to decide i think. it seems that the cherokee bumper leaves a small gap between the bottom of it and the skid below it.

That is how it is with mine, but I don't mind one bit. Matter of fact, I think it looks better raised up a bit. Gives the tires more room and gives it a greater approach angle. I just made sure to paint it all to match. What brand xj bumper is it?

i have not settle on one yet. i got the idea when i was parked next to my buddies XJ and thought hey, that would just about fit.

Size wise, they fit just fine. The only thing was getting it hooked up. It wasn't close to being able to just mount up.

I just got my rock sliders in yesterday. Will post pictures soon of them before the install and after. I am not sure about mounting these up by myself and I may have to recruit someone to help. I don't trust my welder to do well enough for these so I may actually have to pay someone to do it. It will be the first time someone else has laid hands on my rig to do anything other than ride in it.

I was hoping he was going to do a loop then jump like my old Hot Wheels track. :smiley_drive:

I was just amazed that he didn't roll it upon landing. I wonder how much it cost to pull that stunt off....

I thought he was going to flip too especially when he turned almost as soon as he landed! Awesome suspension on that truck!!!

I went ahead and started my rock slider install today with my crappy welder. These are Trail Gear 67" rock sliders made for a toyota. The fit is perfect as far as length goes. I got one side finished but it was dark by then. Here is a picture of it just before I started.

Sweet, I've been thinking about doing sliders, though I don't know if I'll really need them, I think they'd be nice to have just in case. How long did it take to put the one side on?

Using my crappy gas less welder that kept exceeding the duty cycle and shutting off.... about 3 hours total. If I'd had a good gas welder it would have been 45 minutes tops. I priced out how much a local shop would have charged me and I refuse to pay anyone 400 to 600 for a simple welding job that I can do right here for free. Of course the welds are for the most part ugly, but they will work just as well and since they are under the rig. I do not care one bit.

I'm itching to get the other side welded up. Just have to wait for the rain to stop... Ugh. 99% humidity won't do for the paint either.

Did you use gussets? How far do they stick out? Looking forward to seeing some pics!
