Cool!! Looking forward to learning where the weak part is from this kind of owner neglect.It's up and going in 4wd now. I will try to get by the shop this weekend to take it apart and get some pictures of what actually failed.
Tell me about it. I'll be doing my 2nd one once the gears are in the spare xcase.I really hope to never have to replace it again. I'd like to give the previous owner a piece of my mind too! Lol
The transfer case in these things is not easy to R&R at all.

Love these Monteros. I have a friend with one and it goes most placed that my Jeep will go. I am liking that front bumper also! Great fab work
Thank you sir. No offense to your friend but if he cannot go places that your ZJ can, he needs to get some practice. Unless he is running around with street tires, broken shocks, and probably an anchor thrown out of the back he has no reason to not go everywhere you can.![]()

Oh, and he isn't the most "gifted" driver out there. That plays a role in it too....actually that plays the whole role haha
