@titanpat57. This forum member has posted a request with a specific problem. Your response is to attack the member's post and call into question his integrity. More from the Sierra fan boys defense club. Pathetic.

Pretty much all of us have had problems with a vendor. My truck's sliders were a 90 day PITA before I finally got delivery. If you want the support of the forum don't go ballistic on anyone who doesn't seem to agree with you. TitanPat is far from a "fanboy" as he builds his trailers from scratch so your name calling should be retracted. Every vendor has a base of fans and attacking them will not further the goal of getting Joe his trailer through the support of all of the die-hard offroad trailer fans here.

Corey,
Originally, I was going to comment on the existing thread, but with so many comments already on the thread, I did not expect any response because it would be buried at the bottom of the heap. By starting a new thread my intention is to get immediate attention and feedback so we can get Joe his Trailer. I believe I am on the right track on this one. If you still disagree with my actions then you are just going to have to forgive my boldness.

Jim, You and Pat are senior to me on the forum and I will retract the term. Poor choice by me. Pat's use of "legit" to calling into question the claim by the thread initiator, should also be retracted.

Thanks for the efforts to stay friendly. As for myself, being senior may just excuse my forgetfulness. I'm not much of a model anyhow but I do know Pat wasn't taking sides even if his word choice seemed incorrect to you. Anyhow, back on topic.

Maybe Joe can post up an edited image of his original order and just PhotoShop out personal info.

Jim, Pat, Corey, and everyone else, I am all for staying friendly as well, I just want my trailer and I could use everyone’s help. I really appreciate anything you can do to get me my trailer. Someone wanted to see the invoice, I don't know how it will help matters but here it is. See attachment.

"fanboy" is one thing......

but I draw the line at "smartypants"...:ylsmoke:

Fresno I appreciate your efforts to keep this above boards, so I will retract the the term legit as well. It was not meant to smite, but these threads do have a way, and sometimes a tendency, to become a piling on party...sometimes at the expense of the vendors good name, and without proof (i.e. Mike and Joe, new members, not really "known" in this section). That doesn't mean their problems are any less important, and that they don't deserve our help or assistance. I just become a bit wary when it's a new post count, and grenades are flying. I do not know Mike or Joe, but now that Joe has in fact posted the complete story of exactly what's going on with Sierra 4x4 Trailers, I do admire Mike for trying to come to the aid of his friend......because it looks to be painfully clear Joe's not going to getting much aid from this vendor.

Hey Chris...you must be reading this...why don't you do the right thing and call these guys back, with a truthful and legitimate schedule. Nothing says "up yours" like no return call....just simply inexcusable.

I think the OP should go read the other Sierra4x4 thread. I think Chris is a good guy, but just over committed small business owner, guilty of wanting to please everyone all the time, but suddenly realizing he doesn't have the "S" on his chest he thought he did!
If you read on the other thread, the folks frustrated with Chris, when finally taking delivery of their product, were so blown away with the quality of the product, that they suddenly forgot about the wait and frustrations. You have to ask yourself, ... would you rather he skimp on quality (which knowing Chris ... he won't ... no can't do) and deliver quickly, or take longer than expected and you be blown away with the quality.
What I am publicly suggesting to Chris that he do, is stop telling folks an eta on delivery. Simply tell the customer if they want a superior quality custom built trailer that ... they'll get it when you are done!
I yield.

Dendy, it seems to me that this thread about two families that are not being treated honestly. As someone who was concerned by the previous tread, you took positive action and called Chris. I think a call from you will get these people their trailers or a refund.

Just read through the whole thread. There was so much clap trap about giving the guy a break and that folks should not expect instant gratification I almost lost it. Said impatient folks were given a delivery window and then left hanging. Repeatedly. Don't blow sunshine up my kilt. Be honest and upfront. Tell potential customers that you can't even give them a vague idea of when you'll deliver on the product. See how many folks will hang around and give over their hard earned cash for that sort of temperamental artist malarkey. You know why business owners, upper management types, bosses make the extra they do? To step up and deliver bad news to customers etc. Maybe Chris needs to not be the boss but the talented artist that the boss always has to chide to hurry up and finish the project. And sod the screw heads lining up. Make them tight. Not over or under tight so they line up. Oi!

Best of luck getting your trailers. And truly good luck to Chris. I hope he can find enough folks willing to be left hanging without communication to have a profitable venture.

If I seem a tad irritated it's because I dealt with a similar situation with a fellow member though not a vendor. Guy said he'd build a rack for my truck. Said it'd be ready in a couple of weeks. Paid him half of the total price. Offered more, he said half was ok. Took truck to his shop to measure etc. After many weeks of no info I contact him and he says he needs to have my truck for the day. This happens several times. Me dropping my truck off for the day and needing to get a ride to and from. Minimal progress and always the line of "you'll love the finished product". After two years of screwing around I told him to return my money and we'll part ways. Sob story from him and six months later a get a fraction of what he owes me. Then I trade something he was selling for a few more dollars. Then he offers to give me equipment from his new employer. I opt to not take the pilfered goods and swallow the loss.

To me, what is telling is that Sierra is using Facebook and other forums as if all is good in the trailerville. What irks me is that Hannibal is equally silent and making no effort to circumvent the road block and back it's product with any type of support.

I didn't see hide nor hair of Hannibal at ExPo, but I saw some upstarts getting close to comparable.

I just need a part!

Seriously?

I would not be so forgiving. Good customer communications cost nothing, and there is no excuse for consistently failing in that regard.

Sad situation for both parties. I know how hard Chris has worked on this. I know people have put their hard earned money forward. Being a startup, I have tried very hard not to promise what I can not deliver, although most of us think we can do more than we can. Human I guess.

Chris, anything I can do to help, I would be happy to. To the customers, I think Chris is a good guy and will make good on his promises. This internet thing can be a cruel monster or it can be a god send. Communication is the main thing, no matter how bad the news, knowing it seems to quiet the clammor.

Good luck to all parties involved, again, Chris if I can help, give me a call. And that Cowboy dude has some talent, I am sure he would be very good help.
