Just thought I would introduce my truck and myself to the forum. Long time lurker here. This in my 1998, five speed, 5.7 liter stepside that I have put everything i have into. Picked the truck up a year ago from a body mechanic who painted it. All other listed mods were done by me.

Cobra cb radio with blue tooth
Spray in bed liner (Speedliner brand with Kevlar)
Kenwood Excelon Stereo with all Kenwood speakers (just swapped the factory speakers, no amp)
Hayes super clutch
Moog inner tie rods
Mood outer tie rods
Moog idler arm
Moog pitman arm
Zone offroad leveling keys
Goodyear Wrangeler silent armor AT 285/75/16
HID headlights
Replaced the factory tow hook with chrome ones from from LMC....gotta have a little bling :)
GMC Denali wheels (soon to be changed)
Weatherguard tool chest black diamond plate

My next mods....

Heavy duty bumpers
Rock sliders
Wheels
Spare tire mount
2.5" Skyjacker suspension lift

and at some point an adventure trailer to pull behind it

Nice looking rig. I like the improvements you have done. I have owned several of that generation pickup and ran them to over 200K with few problems. I find the exotics (Land Rover, Range Rover, LC's and Jeeps) a little too specialized for my taste. Give me a good old Chevy set up for multiple applications and I am happy.

Thanks, I agree with you. I am all about having a truck. You just can't do the same things with an exotic.

Well thanks Chilli, appreciate that. Here are some quick pics from the last couple of weekend projects.

Dual battery with Optima Red and Yellow Top batteries 34/78 and a Perfect Switch Power Gate Dual Rectifier nearly 12 feet 1/0 welding cable.

I Like the dual battery setup, where did you get all the parts to install this? I would like to do something similar on my 2001

image.jpgimage.jpg More upgrades... Went to a cognito 4 inch lift and 35's... Added a Viair compressor, tank and airbags... Thinking of a popup camper next!

General Automag they are Yakima Roof Racks www.rackattack.com I drilled (5) 1/4 holes on the left and right side of the cabs roof. I installed the rails and then Yakima Towers which can be removed easily enough anytime I wish, hope this helps.

BTW, I had Gutter Towers and simply annoyed me with their constant whistling when driving down the Highway.

Joining your thread late walker.

05 gmc 1500hd trying to get a roof rack on top of the truck. could i get a little more info on your mount? What model tracks? How did you figure out where to drill on t he roof to miss the structure? Are you through the headliner or underneath? How does the basket handle the weight? Any additional thoughts?

Thanks bud

I am currently working on a couple modifications, first the on going dual battery/winch connection. Secondly, I recently had some rock sliders fab'd up from a local welder. I'll shoot some pics and keep both of them updated.

Is that an extended cab with the crewcab bed? The unicorn ecsb? Awesome!

The 9" shorter 134" wheelbase might get you through some of the tighter switchbacks here on CO trails better than my land yacht crewcab 143".

I've got lots of stuff in the works, stepping up to one tons, 40s, more armor, lower gearing, etc... We plan on running the spring overland challenge with 3 solid axle swapped GMT 800 trucks.
