I bought my Skinny Guy Camper locally / used, I believe it is a 2024 model. They are no longer selling the Bare Bones model though I see one in NC still new at local dealer for $9999. ($16.5k now for their Skin and Bones model.)
I first saw one of these in person at Overland Expo East in 2022 and was really impressed. I don't know that I stepped up inside but loved the look and feel. Now that I own one, even more impressed by the integrated metal cabinets and attention to detail.
Their biggest competitor is the AT Overland Habitat, there are various comparison videos out there but will just say I would have taken either, this just was the right price (used) at the right time.
Why do I like it, the inside / camping space is HUGE compared to the pop up style campers. Basically my entire 6.5 bed' is my living room and another 6.5' of bedroom. All of the pop up models you either push the bed up and out of your way. Honestly if I had found an incredible deal on one of those I would probably have done it but I was looking at this style 2 years ago. The living space is the game changer for me and my travel style, we both work remotely so we use our living space during the day for computers, monitors.
I will update this thread as I go, previous owner already installed 2k inverter, 140 amp hour lithium battery and 100 watts of solar. I will be adding a shore power outlet and dialing in the fit for us.
Something to look forward to, I bought a U shaped window unit AC and I am planning on installing that for running when camping in hotter places! (When boondocking / use my generator or shore power, not battery) I will report back how well that works or does not work!
