actually, a lot of trucks run a narrower rear end than front end. gets a better ackerman angle / scrub radius for the steering system

How about putting hinges on the top and making the door open upwards with a linear actuator?

It looks like the openings on the sliding door and barn doors are the same so could you just retrofit barn doors?
