Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

I am going to mount my RTT on my trailer the next couple of days (smittybilt Overland XL), those of you that have done this, any pointers? Also, is there an optimal height? optimal for stability?

I would love to show it to you someday. Had you pinged me we would have made that happen. That goes for anyone really. If you are passing through Grand Junction,CO on I -70.... message me here and I would be happy to show it.
I think the slide setup ( one on each side and one in the back) for a total of three, is perfect for me. Left featuring the kitchen stove and has storage for anything I would want. Right is filled up with the fridge. And back has all the camping gear.

So you have your kitchen on the passenger's side and your fridge on the driver's side? That sounds like it would be kind of a pain since you would have to walk around the trailer to get to either while cooking/eating.

I'm not quite fallowing this part of your post though:

It is quite the with though as camper left has the arb2500.... which sticks out 8 feet.

Perhaps we can meet somewhere in the middle on a camping trip someday for me to take a look at it.

Can someone measure from the center of the axle to the ball location for me please? I'd like to know have it compares to the trailer I just pulled through DV. Thanks.

Sure.
Kitchen stove and utensils are on the left side or drivers side.
There are no room on the left for the Engel fridge..... so it went in the right side slider.
Yes..... I would have loved them to be on the same side but there is only so much room available. I actually don't mind this at all.
The ARB 2500 is an awning that sticks out 8 feet. It is on the left side covering the kitchen.

So has anyone used wheel adapters on their trailer, I would like to change to my Landcruisers 6 bolt pattern.

Yes. I added Toyota pattern adapters so I could standardize the wheels\tires and ditch the spare on the trailer. The area freed is now water storage. No issues so far. Adds a few inches to the wheel track.

We just picked up our trailer with the smittybilt XL tent. I wanted to use my old jeep wheels but the trailer needs more offset and the spacers for the jeep would not fit. I went with MT wheels and they fit fine with the 35 inch BFG AT tires.IMG_8533.jpgIMG_8541.jpg

Re-coating Bed Liner?

Has anyone done the bed liner over the existing chinacoat powder coat? Does it hold up, or must one remove the existing powder coat before re-coating with bed liner material. Whats the best bed liner coating for home application?
On youtube there is a couple with video's using Herculiner with a 1 year review and they said it was well worth it. I am doing my trailer over the next two weeks top to bottom with Herculiner. The only wear area's that they had were where cargo could move around on the bottom floor. I think, if they put a 1/4 sheet of ply wood down to stop that wear. There site is called "The Wobbly Otter".

Hey all, been setting up my trailer, couple of questions...
Are the two rear stabilzer jacks meant to be mounted (in the up position of course)while travelling? the pin makes me nervous, only has that spring loaded tab to hold it in, not a cotter pin like i am used to..
Also, what solar panel setup are you using? i have a 12v deep cycle id like to have a continous charge from a panel mounted to top of the front box (tongue box).. any ideas?
Thanks!!

I store my stabilizer jacks in tongue box while traveling. I am looking at making a mount to put them on the side of the trailer but haven't gotten to it yet.
