There was nothing wrong with my truck before aj and his guys touched it. They are entirely responsible for ruining this project. Quadvans is absolutely more qualified and guaranteed work. Don’t make the same mistake i did
Oh that is so unfortunate, I have been following them on IG and they seem to have a good thing going on especially Primal Outdoors took his van to them. It seems like he took his van later on to a different shop though.

I’m curious how you were able to get the vehicle from the insurance company after they took possession and totaled it. I’ve heard its diffuicult to get them to sell it back to you.

Jumping in here late, but I also had a recent bad experience with aj’s 4x4…

let me know if ya’ll want more details.

There are two things people really love on this forum....bashing overpriced for sale ads and hearing tales of bad experiences with shops/sellers/companies. Please feed us the goods!

I'm not sure, that would need to be something you investigated if it's something you want to do. In the meantime the truck is as done as I'm going to make it

Sorry, My comment was a suggestion if in fact you wanted to keep the cab with all the work you had done on it.
Best to your plans ahead, and adventures.

do you recommend me going to AJ4x4 or pay 5 more grand for Quadvan? Thank you!
Not to sully up this unfortunate thread, but if I were you, I would just go straight to UJoint for your conversion. They have opened a shop in Colorado so you don't have to drive all the way to NC anymore.
Don't bother going anywhere else IMO.

Also to the OP, this is such a bummer! I would love to see you fix the issues and continue on with this rad build, but I understand selling it also. Shame, looks like you did a great job.

What exactly could AJs not fix?

Honestly — if they’re in the market of making vans 4x4 — and can’t troubleshoot them when they don’t do it right — should they even be in this business altogether?

What does 10k get from the shop you found? There’s got to be more than wheels and a driveshaft at that number.

You're right in that AJs shouldn't be doing this type of work. Unfortunately I found that out the hard way.

The tires, wheels, driveshaft, and engineered brackets for the mounting of the front axle need replaced, as well as the engineering and parts to install a different emergency brake system and misc bits and pieces along the way. Shop labor and professionallism...

AJ himself tried to fix the truck and spent over a week redoing the carelessness and slop his shop had performed to my truck. He even agreed with me that it was ******** work. After 2 weeks of little to no improvements in driveability, and serious wobble in 4wd in the front axle that he couldn't diagnose I told him I wanted his insurance information. I could tell he had already began to look towards his upcoming projects and wasn't treating my truck seriously anymore. I had already payed him at this point.
I originally assumed that because of the unique nature of this truck that he would have been performing the work to it himself or at least under his supervision, but he left and took a 4 week trip to Mexico instead as soon as I dropped the truck off. Had I known that was the case I might have reconsidered my options originally, but hindsight is always 20\20.

Ajs auto and custom fabrication should not be in business doing this work to vehicles.

This is why you should pay on a credit card for things like this and dispute transactions with credit card provider if it goes wrong.

Guys, this is not hard work for a competent fabber or shop. Somebody buy this amazing rig at this amazing price and finish it. This is not alchemy. There are thousands of these conversions on the road. OP, sorry for your experience. GLWTS
