Hey RamRod, what's your plan for the slider? Are you going full bed length? I've been looking at some options for storage for my 3, not sure if I'm gonna do a full slide out section or a drawer system yet. Just curious where your going with yours.

Love seeing a former mall crawler being put to proper use! I've always like the H3T, I didn't realize they came with factory lockers either! Great score!

Yeah, bringing back a "fabulous" mall crawler back to its intended purpose is one of life's great joys....

If you find an adventure model they all come with at least rear lockers, then after a certain year the adventure package come with locked front and rear!

Its funny so many people still called it a mall crawler, but then I got the 37'' tire on the rear bumper & that stopped that quickly!

Do I wish the paint was left untouched and left all white? Yeah!... do I care enough to get it repainted? not one bit.... at least until the bush pin stripping and the flat paint starts to fade and start to look bad

The sliders I am working on are to protect the underside of the truck between the two wheels.

The slider drawer system you are talking about will come after I get all the functionality out of the truck that I am looking for.

Building a plan in my head just not 100% sure how it will end up yet.

Nice T, fellow dead brand rare model of a truly awesome truck owner. Haven't been too active online this year thanks to a run in my laptop had with a freshly poured beer and a Pug flying by desperately trying to make it out to the backyard to deposit a fresh "mushroom" on the newly sodded yard. Laptop lost that round and so did my web life lol. Was a good excuse to take a few months away from the online world and catch up on MANY shelved/back burner projects. Looks like I missed a good thread on a sweet looking slant back. Nice modding so far. Wish I had seen it earlier though, could of helped you out with the rear bumper. When C.J. closed Thor Parts down for a while to revamp things I picked up a lot of his left overs, bumpers, tire gates finished and unfinished including a swing gate like your's a customer special ordered but then disappeared. Tire mount was passenger side centered with extra arm length for Jerry can mounting just like you installed. Parts where ready to assemble and weld. Sorry about that, always out to look after a fellow brother T. Mine is about to undergo a shock upgrade, rewiring and a few needed repairs. Would be going the solid axel swap route but haven't had a lot of luck finding a shop to take on that type of project with a Hummer. Can't wait for the next round of pics and upgrades, thanks for sharing. Mod on brother, mod on.

I am sure C.J can hook you up with a SAS swap!!

Glad you enjoyed my build thread to date! I have to say When I started researching the T after deciding to buy one. Yours came up in more than a few searches and was an inspiration of how BA and (I hate to use this word as its getting used too much these days) Tactical the T can really look!

I'll watch for the updates to your rig!

I really want to focus on getting my sliders finished, UCP added, Snorkel finished then a SOA swap in the rear and a winch/front bumper combo then be done for a while and wheel!

Just a quick update, have the following items being shipped as I write this:

1- Some OEM UCP (under carriage protection) for the trans and transfer case
Going to add the Thor parts Skid plates to the UCP
2- New brush guard for the front of the T.... it was bought "locally" (300km's away) and is chrome.... so that is getting coated with some Bedliner this weekend before going on!
3- Got my trans temp gauge and boost gauge in the mail.. but still waiting on the pod before I can mount it all up! I'll feel a lot better with those stats on hand while towing

Here is the new B/G installed.... I really like it and now I have a place to attach some limb savers!.... Once I build them haha

This pic was from a snow wheeling mini trip this weekend

So after some winter storm delaying the shipping, I finally I have both my Thor parts beef up plates and the OEM UCP sitting in the back of the T. So I hope to get under the truck this weekend and bolt on the Transfer case skid, and if I am lucky figure out a way to mount up the Transmission skid with the all that Rancho stuff in the way!

Wish me luck!

Pic's to come once installed

I had a colleague point out to me a week or so ago that my truck with leaning to one side... I went out and measured the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender and I couldn't believe how much my Rancho leaf springs flattened out! I was back to 1/4'' under stock ride height on the drivers side and just 1'' over stock on the other.... I have known that the Rancho flattens out after a while but this is way worse than I though.... so I started to look at me options... but before I got too far ahead of my self and started to buy all the parts required for the SOA conversion I decided to give Rancho a call and see if this is something that they would warranty...

They did!

I was just expecting to here some excuse that its just wear and tear and I would need to buy new ones... nope! they had them in the mail 2 hours after my call. Just awesome to have that kind of customer support and warranty!! Kudos to Rancho for being so awesome!!!!!

Now when the new ones come in I think I am going to take it to a local spring shop and get them to do an AAL or similar so I don't have the same issue in the future... more on that as it develops

Awesome rig. Great appointment of functional mods. I need to find a snorkel I can modify to fit my rig. Was it pretty simple to bend once warmed up?

Awesome rig. Great appointment of functional mods. I need to find a snorkel I can modify to fit my rig. Was it pretty simple to bend once warmed up?

It was very easy, All I did was bolt the bottom portion of the snorkel down to a board then clamp the board down to my work bench.

Heated it up with a heat gun first on low then on high, you can tell once it gets warm enough to bend but its kind of funny in the sense that it wont bend one second then two more seconds of heat and then its like a wet noodle.... so take you time.

I also clamped a 2x4 to the side of the snorkel that faces the window, it served two functions
1-kept the snorkel straight and flat and only allowed it to bend at the joint
2- since it was longer then the snorkel by about 1.2' it provided me with leverage

The last thing I noticed was that you had to hold the snorkel in the position that you want it to stay in until it was cooled right down, had I known this I might have prepared a damp cool rag to help speed up the cooling process.
