And no I get no glare from the light bouncing off the hood because its painted flat black! I love this mod!!

I just ordered a rear tire swing out DIY kit from EMS off road today, soon I will have a rear bumper from Thor Parts and will get the full size spare out of the tiny box and behind the truck where it belongs!

With the Tire carrier it will looks similar to thing, just with two septor cans on it as well:

yay! both the bumper and DIY kit showed up today at work!

The receptionist was overwhelmed by such a big package..... (pun there or not for those who want it)

So I unpacked everything when I got home and its looks great! Its bigger then I expected, but it is exactly what I was hoping for!

Did a quick mockup of the general layout that I want to do, its nothing new or original, but here is what I want to do:

The tire in this picture is the stock spare, this will be built to hold the full size 37'' tire so things will shift about slightly, just didn't have access to that tire tonight for the photo.

The EMS off road kit looks great and I am sure it will be more then sufficient to hold water, gas and the spare... when it gets welded up by a professional.... not me haha

I will have to cut a spot for the rear camera, that shouldn't be too hard

Next I will have to decide if I want to add a second recovery point and tie it into the rear end.

I am going to build a gas can holder to the dimensions of the three cans, but it will also serve as a basket for "other" storage when extra fuel is not a concern... i.e. muddy boots, a small cooler...etc

Haven't finished up the swing out yet, but I got the bumper on the truck, the rear view camera remounted and working.

I picked up my steel, waiting on two parts to come in then I should have everything I need to make the final measurements and cuts for the swing out!

Unfortunately the weight of the new bumper and the full sized spare out back has my rear sagging a bit, so the next thing on the list is to sort out a solution for that... thinking about going SOA and adding a second main leaf to the pack

Last night I ordered some rear diff protection from Purple Cranium, I liked their set up and the color options and it is the best priced option for the T that I could find!

It'll looks something like this:

Didn't take any photo's last night, but got the rear swing out mocked up and everything to work with each other. The swing out arm is longer then I wanted it to be, but I would have to make some major changes in order to make it all work the way I wanted it to, so that was the compromise that I was willing to work with.

I prob wont have the the swing out finished with the final welds until late next week as I got a busy few days ahead of me this weekend.

Just for a bit of research I drove around today without anything extra in the box of the T, noticed a huge difference in the ride quality and have some to the conclusion that I will need to upgrade my leaf pack to handle the "new" weight leveraging that far back on the rear of the T.... got to do some research, but unfortunately my #1 preferred option is likely not going to happen as I wont be able fit into my parking stall at work (6'5'' max)

Found some Fender flare/mud flaps that looks way better then the ones I made so I got all of them installed last night!

I think they look great and for $100 they are way better then the OEM ones!
Here is a before and After:

Also installed my CB antenna last night, I opted for a magnetic base with a removable antenna as I don't need that thing up there all the time:

Also the CB came in today so I am pumped about that! going to get that installed tonight!

I really like the truck and I like the two tone paint job too now that I read through and realized it is white instead of pink like it looked in the first couple pics.

Thanks!

Here are some shots of the rear tire carrier (without the latch installed)

The oper space to the left will be for jerry/water cans.

The pin in the last pic has since got a hoe drilled into the bumper and drop into place to lock the swing out in place at 90 degrees

Sure did!
Thanks!

its really simple once you get the right pivot point, the first tire carrier I ever built was for an Xterra... and I didn't do the pivot point right... Well I hated that thing everyday, even avoided using the rear hatch as much as I could..

after you get that sorted then the rest is just simple, measure, cut, weld.

Here is a shot of us welding it up:

That I am not 100% sure of, they came with the truck when I purchased it

I'll be by the shop that did the install later this week... I'll ask the parts guy if he remembers what they are!
