FWIW
Here's how a good company handles a screw-up.
.
Dexter Trailer Axle made a mistake on a custom axle that I ordered for my trailer build. See Link Below.
.
Day 1 Phoned them, they doubted that it was their mistake, but emailed me a free overnight return shipping label.
Axle was picked up at my house.
.
Day 2 Dexter both phoned and emailed to verified it was their mistake, and said a new axle would be remade and shipped today.
.
Day 3 Received new axle.
.
Here's how I ended up sucking-it-up and paying for an ambiguous, who is respnsible for a rear leaf spring lean to one side problem.
.
During the build, visited the builder of our custom Ford E350 Limo Conversion Bus.
Noticed that even with no interior installed, the rear leaned to one side.
Builder said they'd check it out when the added weight of the interior was installed.
Picked up Bus at Dealer, didn't look for or notice a lean.
When home, noticed one side leaned 1-1/2".
Called Bus Dealer and was told; They talked to the Builder, who said it was a Ford problem because it leaned from the beginning.
Went to a Ford Dealer and they said it was the Conversion Builders' problem because more weight is on one side and even if it was their problem, they wouldn't correct for only an 1-1/2" lean.
At my expense, took it a spring shop and they asked if I wanted it leveled to high or low side height.
Had it leveled to high side by adding an extra leaf.
Spring shop called to say it needed an alignment and needed to tighten a front wheel bearing. I OK without asking for a new price.
Cost of all, was a few hundred dollars more than expected. I paid without a word of protest, because it was my mistake for not asking.
Spring work was done to my satisfaction.
Gone is gone, should of followed up closer with Builder about the Lean.
