Adds character.

So does body damage, but I avoid installing that, too.

I'd rather have an ExPo sticker, or something like Roseanne's (different, and tasteful) than promote my Toyota dealer, for example. Same goes for aftermarket product ads, unless they want to donate said product. Thus far I have not seen conclusive evidence of horsepower gain from stickers, so I'll forego stickers for now.

I came up with a decent compromise I put the stickers on my rooftop cargo box. That way I can still pimp them without putting them all over the truck.

If I get a sticker from a shop or manufacturer included along with an order, they go on one side, and then when I take the box on a trip, I'll try to find a sticker there to put on the back or the other side. Best of both worlds.

I do have a small "OBX" cling on the rear window to cover up a scratch in my tint, and I am still trying to decide where the ExPo decal goes - the tan goes great with my Trooper, and the size is just right for the window on the small rear door.

Fortunately, it is a nice vinyl decal - so if I put it on the window, each letter will always lift off in one piece...vinyl decals are 10x better than paper stickers...

I'm not a big fan of stickers........

But I did like Jack's.

I put it just over my shoulder.....so when I'm in or near the outback......folks can see I'm part of a group and that I "Tread Lightly".....!

Plus.....it inspires me!

I really like that subtle "tread lightly" tag. It really says alot without getting in your face.

Stickers, or lack thereof, are a reasonable reflection of one's interests. Personally, if I was in the woods and happened upon someone driving a 4x4 with a "4WDtrips, tread lightly" decal, its a safe bet that that would be someone whom I'd want to roll with. On the other hand, if the sticker read, "Ballz-2-the-Wall Off-Road Team", then maybe not so much.

I save the stickers for the gas cans and the Nalgene bottle. The only stickers I've intentionally added to the truck were a pair of original TRD stickers as the truck originally came with them, and I wanted them on the fiberglass. They're actually under the clearcoat so as to remain shielded from trees/rocks/dirt/flying debris/alien abduction unlike the originals, which were pretty beat.

I've considered stickifying the truck if someone has done a lot to advance the capability of the truck, and I regularly beat the living hell out of their parts, and they continue to provide excellent customer service over the years. It's partly like the signature of an artist on a great work, and part a thank you to whoever did the work, in that others will see and admire, and hopefully head toward that vendor for something of their own. The only reason I don't have stickers on the truck from all the work is the guys that helped the most with the truck don't normally have anything to do with trucks, much less offroad trucks...and the guy that normally does vehicle work lets his accomplishments speak for themselves on the track and relies on word of mouth to spread his business...so windshield banners and decals are the last thing on their minds.

My water bottles have been saved from impact before by the sheer sticker layer :p. I figure it won't hurt the gas cans, either.

I think stickers are OK, but now I relegate them to the beer fridge in the garage only. So that means they are primarily Colorado beer sticker, Broncos stickers and Toyota parts stickers.

But this thread does give me a chance to relate my favorite bumper sticker. Those of you who know Nederland Colorado will get the joke, but some may not.

Parked in Ned. several years ago was an old, mid -'70's Ford truck that was obviously a work truck. Ladder rack on the top, damage to every quarter panel, shovels in the back, etc....

It had one bumper sticker. Wait for it.

As a rule I do not like stickers, a couple decals will bring more attention to themselves than a whole vehicle full. I have four decals showing the various groups I belong to, and no free advertising for consumer goods.

Besides who wants to see a big boxy billboard bounding through the beautiful backcountry.

This is all very interesting.

I have a collection of stickers awaiting placement. I go through phases where I take a bunch off. Put some more back on.

Currently most of my stickers are related to people/products/things I support. I would take a picture to show my steeeekers, but that would just encourage things.

Now what if I put stickers on my snorkel?

I have always thought about installing a snorkel (with a light) and putting a USAF sticker on it. That way I can just tell people it's a rocket launcher.

I've got the same Patagonia fish on my truck as well as a Clemson Alumni, Dagger (kayaks), and a hospital parking decal (taped on the inside).

My VW bus wears a few more; left rear window has outdoor gear stickers (Patagonia, Blue Water, Misty Mountain, Specialized); rear window has a Clemson Alumni sticker, FMBC (Full Moon Bus Club), Have You Hugged Your Kayak Today, The Backpacker (outdoor gear retail store owned by some friends), NASAR (National Association of Search and Rescue), Dagger (kayaks) and Calvin and Hobbes making faces at each other. I think it has a star of life with Paramedic also (can't remember at the moment).

I just can't commit to any sticker I've seen so far.

I debadged my truck because I like the understated, incognito look. I do have a drawer full of stickers that I've collected.

On some outfits decals look cool. Snorkels look cool on any and every truck :snorkel:
