What? No skinny jeans from an urban boutique on here??
HA!
Good recommendations on here. I've had a great experience with Carhartts and other "work" brands if durability is an issue.

My chasis would not look good in skinny jeans. ha ha ha.

I am glad I found that store, they have lots to feed my Columbia gear addiction. Also have a great selection of tilly hats and hunting gear. Woo hoo.

Another Railriders fan here. It's not unusual for someone to ask where I'm going. My answer is "no where, why". They ask, "then why are you so dressed up"? The RR are very tough, light and fast drying...........Sun

scored another pair of old navy cargos, they are cheap and awesome. Loving them. Next up, 5.11s and some khuls.

I finally wore out my favorite Kuhl pants and when I went to pick up new pair at REI it rang up clearance. $43 for brown. I ran back and grabbed a second pair of kaki colored and they rang up $79. I paid up but it might be worth checking you local store or order your jean size for a good fit. My favorite britches.

I've been wearing 5.11 Stryke pants for a few months (shortly after this thread started) and like them a lot. Great fit and wear well, resist water and stains. The only problem is they still look a little too 'tactical' with all the pockets. I bought a couple of pairs of 5.11 Covert Khaki 2.0 recently and they are great. Same teflon coating, good fit, with hidden leg pockets (for flashlight, knife), same elastic waistband. Look dressy enough to wear to the office and very comfortable. They're also cheaper - $45-50 per pair vs. $70 for the Stryke.

The only fault is you have to remember to keep loose change in the cargo pockets. They have the worse hand pockets for having change slid out when you sit down.

Dry/desert areas ....surgical scrub bottoms. Way comfortable/loose , breath and are cheap. Great for nights too.

Colder areas use some old ski/snowboarding pants.Waterproof and durable. Crotch usually has zippered mesh venting.

It's been said already, but I'll put in another vote for Fjallraven pants. They might be expensive but you wouldn't believe how comfortable, durable, and practical they are.

I've gotten a couple pairs of Eddie Bauer Rainier pants at the outlet recently and immediately fell in love. Finally put them to use this past weekend in the UP of Michigan. Got wet on the boat ride out to the island, dried in 5 minutes, I love their Travex line. Took a longer hike through the woods and they stayed clean and didn't snag or tare while moving through some tight tree cover. I also just took a business trip to Japan last week before going to the UP and they are all I wore. Stayed comfortable on the plane and looked professional enough for what I was doing over there.

When I started this thread, I had no idea there are SO MANY different pairs of great pants. My collection is growing by the day. ha ha. Shorts are great too when its warm. But I have not bought a pair of Jeans since this thread started. I am much happier too. No uncomfortable pants anymore.

I was gonna buy a pair of Triple Aught tan pants at Expo, but they didn't have any to sell - you have to get them on line. So I bought a titanium beer-opener thing (skeleton key) instead...
