I can only speak details in Ford: front axle is different, 350 gets hydro-boost brakes v. vacuum (might be diesels-only), an extra spacer and leaf on the rear axle.

I would double check, I'm going on 07-12 research, but I can't imagine much of a difference, it's mostly physics, x pounds with x engine at x rpms(final ratio)

I'm working with the guys on garage modifications. Anyone know if 8 feet is enough clearance to get the truck in with camper on?

In my search for a dedicated truck to pair with my TC650 I ran across a site with a bunch of truck camper photos (100s) along with the truck size and model of camper (bonus). It goes from the ridiculous (Tacoma with hard side TC towing a boat!!) to maybe the overkill rig (1 ton truck with a popup TC) and everything in between

After viewing these photos a/w what has been strongly suggested in this thread, I am thinking that a Ram 2500 will be a truck that should work just fine to haul my tc650 around.

Nope, it's not.

TC650 on my F150 was 8'9" - I haven't accurately checked it on my F250, where I know it'll be higher.

Mine is 8'.9" Chevy with 6" lift. No Roof A/C. Maybe you need a 10' door to be extra safe. So what's the story on the pick-up??

I'm probably going to go big and get the ram 3500, since I can't get a straight answer from ram about their CWR requirements. Bummer news on the garage. I would have to start tearing the roof apart to go higher $$$

A gal who has been reading your posts. Great job of checking out the details and making sure that you get what you want and need. We have a Ford F-250 with long bed and extended (not crew cab). We haul a camper probably close to yours in weight or maybe heavier? Anyway, we are larger people than you and also have a big Standard Poodle and a Pudelpointer who, together weigh 120 pounds. They travel with us on our adventures and are comfortable in the rear seat. They also sleep with us in the camper bed (a larger than queen size). I hope you find your dream machine. And, happy trails when you do.

Thanks for the info. (I think we may be the only 2 women on this post lol)

Yes, I think we are probably just a few of the women on this entire forum. It's nice to see another female who is going adventuring. I did the research on our combination with hubby's parameters and mine. And, no it wasn't about the larger bed, full bath or other choices women are known to want. Actually it was the hubby who wanted the shower and porcelain toilet. And, no, we have yet to use the shower. Lol.

Thanks for all the input and letting me tag along on this thread, great timing.

Ended up getting a White 2015 F-250 SuperCab ShortBox 6.2 Gas 4*4 and it came with Camper Package to boot which adds 300 lbs payload capacity (bonus) (she's a beauty) for my TC650. I"ll have time to break in the motor and powertrain properly before I mount the camper.

I will scale the front & rear seperately and the whole vehicle empty, do the same with the camper mounted then again with the camper and all the gear.
